Sheila Cliffe's Talk & Coordination Seminar
First today, I went to the Talk & Coordination Seminar bySheila Cliffeheld at the "Sankatsu Yukata Museum"!
It was a wonderful time filled with smiles, with Sheila talking cheerfully in an outfit with an impressive pink color, and the gentle moderation byTaishi Sashikubifrom Hakata-ori OKANO!

I will upload the event report on the talk content at a later date♪
A similar session is scheduled for tomorrow, 4/20 (Sun) from 11:00.If you have time, please go and see it.

The kimonos and obi sashes that Sheila coordinated this time can actually be seen and purchased at the brands exhibiting at the venue! I also recommend visiting outside of the talk event times.

Authentic "Kamado-cooked rice" lunch under the blue sky!
For lunch on the second day, I went to "Yawaragi-sai" at the Horidome Children's Park, a satellite venue! It was the best, with an open space under the blue sky...!
"Gohanya"'s authentic rice! A set with rice cooked in a kamado (traditional stove), rolled omelet, etc. This volume is for one person! (1,500 yen)
Don't think it's just rice... I was surprised by how delicious it was after one bite, and the tea was also exceptional!

There was also beer. Please try it for lunch or a break.
Horidome Children's Park:1-1-16 Nihonbashi Horidome-cho, Chuo-ku(It is close to one of the Tokyo Kimono Show venues, "Blooming Nakanishi (where stage performances, etc. are held)")
I plan to report on "Yawaragi-sai" in more detail at a later date♪
"Kimono is Expression!" Kimono Style Exhibition
Now, I have returned to the main content of the Tokyo Kimono Show, the "Kimono Style Exhibition," for the first time since yesterday. There are about 100 mannequins on display at the site, which is overwhelming! The direction of "expression" also varies. I'm sure there was a different piece that resonated with each and every visitor.
Below, we have picked out and presented the highlights from a Zipangu Gate perspective. (Titles omitted)
Taiwan's national designer Justin Chou

Drag queen/costume designer hossy

Kamiko (Tokyo Kimono Show Headquarters)

Connecting two kimonos into one: Kiredori Kimono (Tachibana)
Reviving kimonos that couldn't be worn due to size issues into "wearable kimonos"! The designs are also innovative, further refining the original one-of-a-kind kimono designs.

NEO KIMONO (Furisode brand "Hanasha")

That concludes our report for the second day!
We plan to visit for coverage again tomorrow, 4/20, for the final day of the Kimono Show.
Thank you for your support.
We will continue to post coverage reports related to kimonos and Japanese culture on this note. If you like, please follow our note as well!
