Copper red is the color of adolescent pain🌙
Hello everyone.
I'm Jian Maeda.
I tried photographing the total lunar eclipse
from the other day, the first in three years, using the included astronomical observation kit🔭
It was just the day after
I went to Disneyland, in the early hours of 9/8.

Since it was a late-night astronomical observation
after enjoying a full day at Disney,
I wasn't sure if I could stay awake,
but I managed to take the photos🌌

it turns pitch black when I photograph it...

Speaking of a copper-red moon,
in "Turning Red",
it's the day the protagonist, Mei, performs her ritual.
It's a time when she hits puberty
and her heart changes as she grows toward adulthood.
Parents, thinking it's for the best,
impose the world they see from their own experiences,
while the child seeks freedom
and is dazzled by the ideals they envision.
In the midst of that,
Mei faces the pain in her heart,
saying, "The red panda is a part of me."

Copper red is
the color of the heart's pain
when facing such adolescence.
It is the color that represents the heart of "me",
pulled to the extremes between saying "I'm sorry" to parents who care for me
and saying "I like you" or "I love you" to the people who are precious to me,
yet still connecting straight through it all.
