I created a web service to back up and export note (Images supported, migration to other blogs possible)

1. Introduction

It has been a month since cakes announced it would be shutting down. Many of you were likely surprised by this news. If cakes can end, it could happen to anyone tomorrow. You must be worried about backing up your note as well.

So, I created a web service to back up note called "note Backup"! (https://yuiga.dev/note-backup)

2. What kind of service is it?

・You can back up your note.

・The backed-up data is saved in mt format, so you can migrate to other blog services.

・Backing up images is also possible. Also, instead of downloading images directly, it utilizes Gyazo to save them with the links rewritten directly. Therefore, the file size will not become huge!

3. How to use

It is easy to use; just enter your note ID (for this account, it is yuwd) and press the download button!

As for how to check your note ID, you can check it by going to your home page and looking at the URL as shown in the figure below...! It is the same ID you use to log in!

The figure below shows an example where I am attempting to back up articles assuming I am yuwd.

If you want to back up images, you need to link it with Gyazo, but there is nothing particularly difficult about it!

Press the button to back up images,

Just press the login button with Gyazo,

and register as a user from this screen 👀

Once the percentage display at the bottom reaches 100%, a file named note.txt will be downloaded automatically. This completes the backup 👍

4. Moving your blog

The downloaded note.txt is saved in a format called "MovableType format". Therefore, if you use a blog service that supports the MovableType format (Hatena Blog, WordPress, etc.), you can migrate your content!

・For Hatena Blog

Go to "Import" > "Start a new import" and select the note.txt file you just downloaded to complete the blog migration!

Let's actually back up my article on note below and try migrating it!

First, click the backup button.

Import to Hatena Blog.

The migration was completed successfully!

↓ You can see that all images have also been changed to Gyazo links! ↓
