Profile

Born in 1984. From Machida, Tokyo. Resides in Saitama Prefecture.

Elementary to High School: In elementary school, I loved music and was in the piano club and fife and drum corps. In junior high, I was in the student council, and in high school, I played the bass clarinet in the brass band. Come to think of it, when I was in 4th grade, getting a spark from Hotohori in the manga "Fushigi Yugi" might have been my first experience of "fandom." In junior high, I supported Arashi members around their debut during the "Junior Golden Age." I also loved reading manga like Weekly Shonen Jump, Ribon, Nakayoshi, Morning, and Bessatsu Margaret. I didn't have a specific career path in mind, so when I wrote down a random faculty on my high school career survey, my homeroom teacher recommended a university, saying, "As a vice-president of the brass band, you'd be perfect for education! Look, here!" Miraculously, I passed. (I failed almost all my private university applications.)

University Days: I entered the Faculty of Education at Tokyo Gakugei University, majoring in elementary education, specifically Japanese language education. However, I neglected my studies and immersed myself in an a cappella circle. We performed at live houses in Shibuya and illumination events at Showa Kinen Park. For my graduation thesis, under a professor specializing in pop culture, I summarized the factors behind the success of Ai Yazawa's works. I aspired to work in publishing, but my approach to job hunting was naive, and I struggled to find a position.

2007-2014: Joined Hoshino Resorts as a new graduate
From 2008 to 2010, I was in charge of public relations in Karuizawa. My duties included creating press releases, planning and managing events for customers and media, directing advertisements, and handling interview requests. From 2009, as a pre-opening staff member for "Hoshinoya Kyoto," I was in charge of launching the retail shop. I gained experience in all aspects of hotel operations, including creating stay plans, customer service, and housekeeping. It was exciting to see a company that was known only to a few become a household name in the blink of an eye; every day felt like a school festival.

2014-2020: Full-time homemaker
I resigned to focus on raising my children and supporting an ill relative. While working as a homemaker, I read over 100 parenting books, picture books, and children's books, and participated in parenting and coaching seminars.I realized the appeal of building blocks and picture books, and started posting on Instagram, eventually gaining 1,900 followers.

2020-Present: Started as a freelance writer
While reporting, writing, and editing for multiple media outlets, I have also worked as a contractor for Oisix ra daichi's internal newsletter and LITALICO Inc. From 2019 to 2023, I lived on Taketomi Island. I also wrote a series titled "Parenting and Learning in Taketomi Island Life" for Kodansha's COCORICO. I am currently raising two sons and one daughter. Before interviews, I carefully read the subject's background and past articles, prioritizing preparation based on a deep understanding of the context. Leveraging both my PR experience and on-site reporting, I value being a "writer you can trust."
