It's not that I envy marriage, it's that I envy being able to love someone
My colleagues around my age are hitting a marriage rush.
No sooner does one get married than another does. Everywhere I look, it's overflowing with happy announcements.
Perhaps because I've lived a life unrelated to romance, I hadn't really thought about it much before, but
I see. So it's already the age when my peers are getting married.
It was through work that I finally realized this.
Along with the marriages around me, I feelimpatienceandenvyIn this era where the number of single people is increasing, marriage is no longer a given. Even so, I feel out of place having absolutely no romantic stories to tell by the time I've reached the appropriate age. Is it really okay for me to do nothing like this? Will I continue to live alone from here on out? The feeling of impatience grows.
Of course, it's not that I've firmly decided to stay single forever. If someone I want to be with appears, I'm sure I'll change my choice.
However, right now, I have absolutely no image of building a family with someone. Therefore, I'm not very proactive about taking action to seek out encounters.
Fortunately, I have many hobbies that I enjoy alone, so I should be able to live happily even as a single person.
While thinking that way, I feel an anxiety that grips my heart when I see the affectionate appearance of couples and families in town. That might be the anxiety of the loneliness of living the rest of my life without knowing love.
It's not that I envy marriage.
I envy the feeling of love itself, enough to wish to spend a lifetime together with someone.
Even so, I want to be someone who can smile and bless a happy marriage.
