[Kobe Electric Railway] January 2023: Status of Oike Station's new inbound station building after it entered service

Barrier-free construction at Kobe Electric Railway's Oike Station began in September 2020, and
the new outbound station building entered service on February 1, 2021.
And recently, the new inbound station building also entered service on December 17, 2022.

I went to see the new inbound station building after it entered service on my last visit on December 29, 2022, but
at that time, I could only see the exterior and was unable to see inside the ticket gates.

This time, for a second attempt, I went to Oike Station on January 6, 2023.

The old inbound station building, which was used until December 16, 2022, is currently being prepared for demolition.

The new inbound station building is located just to the east of the old inbound station building, which is being prepared for demolition.

I am heading toward the new inbound station building from the south side of the old inbound station building.

The unpaved area in front is scheduled to become a rotary after the old station building is demolished.

I am heading toward the new inbound station building by passing alongside the planned rotary site.
The area on the wall side (right side) where a roof has been installed is scheduled to become a bicycle parking area.

The new inbound station building features a novel cylindrical design.

Behind the automatic ticket vending machine for special discount tickets, there is a window with a counter.

The inside is a small room, and a small sink has been installed.

I will pass by the benches and head toward the ticket gate.

Two ticket vending machines and one new information terminal for the hearing impaired have been installed.

There are two ticket gates.

Looking at the ticket gate from inside the station.

There is one fare adjustment machine, the same as in the old station building.
One new information terminal for the hearing impaired has been installed.

The restrooms are located opposite the ticket gate and fare adjustment machine.
From the front, they are the barrier-free restroom, men's restroom, and women's restroom in that order.

Once you exit the new station building, you arrive at the inbound platform immediately.

Let's look at the old inbound station building side from the inbound platform.
The connecting passage that had been installed over the old level crossing within the station premises has already been removed.

This is what the new/old inbound station buildings look like when viewed from the outbound platform.

From here on, the demolition of the old inbound station building will begin,
and the station plaza, including the rotary, is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2023.

Personally, I am curious about how the site of the former level crossing within the station will be handled.
I look forward to seeing whether it will be left as is, or leveled and incorporated into the station plaza.

When I passed by Oike Station on 1/12, the demolition of the old station building was underway.
