[Kobe Electric Railway] August 2024 Arimaguchi Station Barrier-Free Construction: Downbound Platform Extension in Progress

Barrier-free construction at Arimaguchi Station began in late June 2024.

I reported on the situation in late June in the article above, but
this time, I checked the progress of the construction for the first time in about two months.

This is the notice for the barrier-free construction posted on the station platform.

The plan is to remove the stairs on the Arima/Sanda side and build a new ramp.

Since the platform will not be long enough once the ramp is installed, the platform will be extended toward Shinkaichi.

This is the state of the downbound (for Arima/Sanda) platform.
It is currently stairs, but the plan is to convert this into a ramp.

Looking back at the station crossing (Arima/Sanda side) from the downbound platform.

Judging from the construction guide map, it seems the ramp will be installed starting right around here. The platform needs to be extended toward Shinkaichi by the length of this ramp.

When I moved to the Shinkaichi side of the downbound platform, the platform extension work was already underway.

Does the fact that the platform is being extended by this much mean that the new ramp will also be this long?

Meanwhile, here is the state of the upbound (for Shinkaichi) platform.
This is also still just stairs.

I moved to the Shinkaichi side of the upbound platform, but it was still untouched here.

By the way, here is a view of the upbound platform from the downbound platform.
It really is still completely untouched.

You can clearly see the state of the extended platform.

The 1361F+1351F train has arrived.

The length of the extended platform seems to be about two-thirds of a train car.

Note that the ramp installation and platform extension work will continue until late March 2026.
