1500 Series 1503F "JOYFUL ARIMA Autumn Appetite 'Arima' Headmark"
The 1500 and 1600 series were manufactured in 1991 as replacements for the 800 series and as reserve cars for the 2000 series.
The 1500 series is a control motor car, and the 1600 series is an intermediate trailer car.
The car body and performance are almost the same as the De 1150 and Sa 1250 series, but they have been compatible with one-man operation since they were newly built, and they also feature the use of KW-150 rubber spring bogies.
The interior features longitudinal seating.
The seat end partitions were changed to the same type as the late-model 3000 series, and large glass-type intermediate gangway doors were also adopted.
The driver's cab was slightly enlarged to accommodate one-man operation.
As a result, the partition between the cab and the passenger compartment became uneven in shape.
