[Kobe Electric Railway] July 2023 3000 Series Retro-Livery Memorial Train Unveiling Event Part 1
This year marks the 95th anniversary of the Kobe Arima Electric Railway starting operations between Minatogawa and Arima Onsen.
Kobe Electric Railway is planning numerous events to commemorate the 95th anniversary of its railway operations, and
as the first of these,
the "Memorial Train 3000 Series (Retro Livery) Unveiling Event" was held
at Tanigami Station on July 29, 2023.
The Kobe Electric Railway 3000 series
was manufactured in 1973 to commemorate the company surpassing 100 owned train cars.
Since this year marks exactly 50 years since the 3000 series debuted,
the coloring from when the 3000 series first appeared has been recreated this time.

The 3015F was chosen as the subject for the retro-livery train.
The photo above shows it in its current livery, taken in 2021.
The 3015F was newly built in 1990 and introduced in its current livery, so
it has never operated in the old livery.
Among the train sets that operated in the old livery, only the 3011F is still in active service, but
it was decided that "a set that could remain in service as long as possible even after the retro recreation" should be chosen,
so the 3015F was selected.

Around 9:17 AM. The 3000 series Memorial Train arrived at Platform 2 of Tanigami Station!

The 3000 series has been restored to the livery it wore when it debuted in 1973.
It is a wonderful piece of work.

A commemorative headmark featuring the old-livery 3001 car and the current-livery 3018 car
was displayed on the front.

To recreate the appearance from the time of its debut,
the "K-mark" on the side was removed.

The passenger doors, which were entirely red, have become entirely silver.
It is unavoidable that there are door-closing sensors and fall-prevention barriers between the cars.

I will try moving toward Shinkaichi.
The old livery has a very clean design.
This revival is not a repaint,
but apparently recreates the old livery using a full wrap.

A different design of headmark was displayed here.

Lined up with the De 1350 series.

Lined up with the 5000 series.
At 10:00 AM, Platform 2 was opened,
and I was able to enter the memorial train,
but I will cover that in the next post. ⇩
