[Kobe Electric Railway] March 2026 Arimaguchi Station Upbound Platform Barrier-Free Completion
Barrier-free construction at Arimaguchi Station began around late June 2024.
With completion scheduled for late March 2026, I checked the progress of the construction on March 27.

Arrived at Arimaguchi Station.

First, the Shinkaichi side of the downbound platform.
To secure space for installing a ramp on the Arima/Sanda side, the platform was extended by about one car length from February 15 to 16, 2025.

And the Arima/Sanda side of the downbound platform.
The platform was cut back by about one car length, and a ramp from the platform to the level crossing within the station was installed there.
This ramp was opened for use around July 2025.

An information board was installed on the upper part.
It wasn't there when I visited in mid-October 2025, so perhaps it was installed recently?

This is what the back of the information board looks like.

Looking at the ramp from the station level crossing to the downbound platform.

Before the ramp was installed, the platform extended right up to the station level crossing.
The approach from the platform to the station level crossing was via stairs.

This is the upbound platform side.

The ramp is complete.
When I visited in mid-October 2025, it was still stairs.

Looking toward Arima and Sanda from the inbound platform.

Here too, the platform that extended to just before the level crossing was cut back, and a new ramp was installed.

Furthermore, changes were also visible on the platform itself.
The roof, which was only over the stone-masonry section of the platform, has been extended toward Shinkaichi.
Of course, the outbound platform roof was also extended toward Shinkaichi in the same way.

On the Shinkaichi side of the inbound platform, the platform was extended by about one car length from October 25-26, 2025, to secure space for the ramp installation.

It seems there is still some work going on around the inbound platform.
Although minor work seems to remain, the barrier-free upgrades at Arimaguchi Station appear to be almost complete.
That was the state of Arimaguchi Station in late March 2026.
Kobe Electric Railway has long been working in cooperation with Kobe City on station and station-area renovations, as well as making stations barrier-free.
2018: Suzurandai Station elevated station building and redevelopment building opened
2020: Nagata Station elevator installation
2021: Oike Station outbound station building newly constructed and made barrier-free
2022: Oike Station inbound station building newly constructed and made barrier-free
2023: Oike Station station-front rotary development and level crossing expansion
2023: Hanayama Station station building newly constructed and made barrier-free, and station-front plaza development
2025: Arima Onsen Station renewal
2025: Arimaguchi Station outbound platform barrier-free completion
2026: Arimaguchi Station inbound platform barrier-free completion
Just off the top of my head, they have been continuing these infrastructure projects in recent years.
Regarding future plans of interest, according to the "Fiscal Year 2025 Mobility Facilitation Plan" issued by Kobe Electric Railway, barrier-free construction is planned for Minotani Station between fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
It is also mentioned in the "Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Explanation" from the Kobe City Urban Affairs Bureau.
Arimaguchi Station... FY2026 Station facility renovation
Suzurandai-nishiguchi Station... FY2026 Station facility renovation
Yamanomachi Station... FY2026 Consideration of station area redevelopment
Karatodai Station... FY2026 Station building redevelopment design and consideration of station area redevelopment
Karatodai Station... FY2027 and beyond Station building redevelopment construction
Looking at this, will some kind of construction continue at Arimaguchi Station as well?
For Karatodai Station, the station building reconstruction and station area redevelopment are being bundled together, so it looks like it will be a relatively large-scale project similar to Hanayama Station or Oike Station.
Amidst the news that "Kobe City will purchase 280 million yen worth of Kobe Electric Railway shares," I would like to continue watching how the areas along the Kobe Electric Railway line will transform in the future.
