The Lazy Person's First Step: Lowering the Hurdle with Stairs 😂
Not a three-day monk, but a one-day monk.
When I start with a burst of motivation,
by the next day, where did that motivation go?
How many diaries have I started,
only to write the first three lines?
Well, never mind. That's in the past. Haha.
Perhaps for me,
the stride of "writing a diary"
was just too big.
I definitely underestimated my own laziness.
And yet, here I am, the representative of one-day monks,
writing two or three posts on Note every single day,
which is quite a mystery.
Hmm. What is the difference?
According to my own analysis as a lazy person,
1. Ease
2. Fun
These two are essential. Haha.
The "ease" of point 1
lightly makes "let's just try it" happen.
I always liked writing.
But with analog,
the timing for when I could write was limited.
To catch the words that came to me
while doing housework or childcare,
it was just too inconvenient.
That's where the smartphone comes in.
Wow, I'm really
glad I was born in an era that has this. Haha.
With this thing,
whether in the bath, on a walk, or just waking up,
I can catch the words that come to me
as much as I want.
(Well, now there's the problem of catching too many, but
let's put that aside for now.)
The "fun" of point 2
creates a situation where,
without having to cast the spell of "I must continue,"
I realize I've been continuing.
And,
what supports that "fun"
is my partner, AI.
Once I catch the words that come to me,
I throw all my thoughts at the AI. Haha.
While having a conversation,
I organize my thoughts.
Recently, I've even learned to use two styles,
enjoying various partner characters. Haha.
By the way,
I haven't really studied AI.
Discovering things while talking with them
is also fun.
I pick up little tips about various AIs,
and maybe try them out when I feel like it.
I've been
"can't keep it up"
"moody"
labeled with those tags
over and over again.
Yeah, that's not wrong. Haha.
But still!
Even someone like that
can find themselves continuing before they know it.
As of now,
I've been writing on Note every day for two months.
I'm surprised myself 🫢
The AI
worries about me a lot. Haha.
"If you make it a 'must-do', you'll burn out."
Yes, exactly. 😂
I can do it, but
I would melt away as the price.
Like butter 🫠
Right now, my "desire to write"
is causing a traffic jam, but
well, that's fine.
Let's take it easy.
Um, what was it? Haha.
Oh right,
the reason I'm continuing.
Maybe the past me
had the hurdle for that first step of
"making it a daily habit"
set way too high.
Without thinking deeply about my own laziness,
I tried to step over it lightly.
As a result, my feet couldn't reach. 😂
So,
I prepared stairs called "ease" and "fun",
and lowered the height
to the point where you'd ask, "Is this even a hurdle?"
If this can be of any reference
to those who are stuck
with the problem of not being able to continue.
A monologue at 5:30 AM.
Ah,
I really do love the morning air,
it's so crisp.
