For 20 years, I have faced the "true intentions of humanity" within the organization known as the police.
But, that someone like me would become a police officer,
who could have imagined it?
I trespassed on high school grounds, did graffiti, stole motorcycles, and
thought only of the pleasure and excitement right in front of me.
In my teens, I was truly a "brat." And yet, I became a police officer. People around me were shocked, and my friends laughed.
But I did it. I became one.
I did.
My father was a police officer.
When I was in elementary school, I thought it was "cool" in a way.
But by the time I hit puberty, I didn't care about such things anymore.
Fun and stimulation. Greed and impulse. That was all I chased.
From there, it was the "front lines" in the truest sense.
Even after becoming a police officer, I remained a troublemaker.
Gambling, pachinko, alcohol, women—
Before I knew it, my debts exceeded 7 million yen, and my family life had collapsed.
I was in over my head.
How far must a person fall before they realize it?
I learned the answer to thatat rock bottom.At 35, I entrusted my life to my fists once again.
I made the decision to become a
professional boxer.It was the first time in my life I had dedicated myself to something "for real." It was a rebirth.
It was the beginning of a journey to break myself down and rebuild from scratch.
In this note, I will write about the **"essence of humanity"** that I have witnessed.
Within the police organization,
behind the facade of society,
amidst the pain of rebirth,
I have seen the true intentions of people.
It's not pretty.
But I want to deliver the real words. Philosophically.
With an edge.
A former police officer named Yuri will fight with words. I might be clumsy at first.
But if I can light a fire in someone's heart through my words—that will be the proof of my "rebirth."
