After retiring, I welcomed a corgi into my life.
With fluffy fur and honest eyes.
That little life lit a quiet flame of hope in my depressed heart.
Every time we went for a walk, I felt the scent of the wind and learned of the changing seasons.
Even without words, they were a presence that simply stayed by my side.
They stayed close to me even when I was crying.
I was saved many times by that warmth.
The 12 years I spent with my corgi were a 'time of rebirth' for me.
You don't have to force yourself to smile.
It's okay if you can't do anything.
Just being alive—they taught me that was enough.
And during that time, at 33, I became pregnant with my daughter.
Joy and anxiety washed over me like waves.
I immediately called my doctor, and after consulting with them, I decided to stop taking my sleeping pills.
Preparing to welcome this child was something I had been discussing with my doctor for a long time.
“Raising a child will be difficult for you—”
On the recommendation of my doctor who said that, I built a two-family home so I could live with my mother.
I felt anxious, but a new life and a new home.
All of that gave me the 'strength to live' once again.
Even if I can't meet them anymore, they are always alive in my heart.
The 'strength to live' that those eyes taught me still lives within me today.
🕊️At the end of the chapter🕊️
