Let's make a planner that excites me
I've tried various media to see what would be best for organizing my own schedules, records, future, and everything else about myself.
First, as I wrote the other day, I challenged myself with a loose-leaf style personal planner.
I gave up on this after a few days. I tried to mainly use Muji's refill notebook (A5), but it was just too big. The rings were also in the way. Furthermore, I don't really like plastic, so I didn't feel like touching it, and when I took it out, it was completely a burden. There are thin binders like Tefrennu, but they didn't intuitively click with me.
From here, I started to wander.
What I love is a system planner. But when I started thinking about various things, I wondered if a bound planner might be better.
Bound planners are:
・Cheaper
・Less cluttered
But with a bound planner:
・You have to carry around days that have already passed
・There aren't any that really excite me (I like vertical layouts, but A5 is heavy. Even if there's a good planner, I might not like the monthly view, so there are pages I like and pages that are just okay...)
In the end, I concluded that what I love is the best!
It's a system planner, right?
I considered various sizes and decided to buy one system planner that I felt was 'the one'.
※Even though I already own an M5 system planner.
So, since my last article, I've been trying out refills of various sizes to find the best size for me, searching for the right planner size.
This time, the issue that surfaced was whether to go with Mini 6 or Bible size.
I already have an M5, and A5 was ruled out.
(If the size is too big, it doesn't really excite me when I hold it...)
The reason Mini 6 came up as a candidate was because I was worried that even if I got a Bible size, I wouldn't carry it around. I want to keep my belongings as light as possible. I thought that Mini 6 was the limit for something I could quickly pull out of my bag when I needed to check something.
However, I tried a simple plastic binder for the Mini 6 and decided it wasn't for me... It was too small! And on top of being small, the rings bothered me.
And considering the future progression of presbyopia, I realized a larger size would be better.
I'm fine with Mini 6 for now, but looking at my husband who is seven years older than me, it seems like small sizes might become difficult to deal with...
Since I want to use a binder for a long time, I'm thinking about the future and choosing the Bible size.
As for carrying it around, I think if I choose one with a small ring diameter, the weight won't be an issue. (I wonder if a thin Bible size is lighter than a thick Mini 6?)
The binder that excites me the most is Plotter, so that's even less of a problem!
If I ever want a binder with a larger ring diameter, I could use a large binder at home and a thin one when I go out.
(Though that's not very realistic)
So, after trying out Mini 6 refills, I decided that Bible size is definitely the one!
I hope to write about specific ways to use it and share photos in the future.
By the way, the planner I bought is the Plotter Pueblo. The color is black♪
