Welcome to the Nighttime Oshi Fortune-Telling Lab | Research Notes on 'My Oshi and Me' Unraveled Through Fandom and Divination
After the night deepens and the room lights are dimmed.
In the quiet after my family has fallen asleep, I gently open my notebook.
Today, too, I doodle in the margins while listening to a stream in the background.
As I write, only one thought comes to mind.
'Why is it that it has to be this Oshi?'
That question, without seeking an answer from anyone, remains deep in my heart night after night.
That is why I created this.
A small laboratory—the Nighttime Oshi Fortune-Telling Lab.
This is a laboratory where we observe and record the theme of 'the relationship between my Oshi and me'
using the lens of fortune-telling.
No difficult theories are needed.
Using hints from constellations and words,
let's explore together the things that can only be spoken of deep within the heart.
Research Theme: Why is the relationship between my Oshi and me so deep?
When you are engaged in Oshi-katsu (fandom activities),
sometimes you find you cannot explain the reason for your 'love'.
Even if asked 'Why this person?', I cannot explain it well.
Yet my heart is certainly moved,
and it is a void that can only be filled by 'that person' and no one else.
In the world of fortune-telling, this is sometimes called 'projection'.
Your own desires or missing pieces are reflected in the figure of your Oshi.
But it is not just that; I feel there is a more complex,
and warmer connection.
In this lab, we conduct research on such inexpressible relationships.

Experimental Notes: Small Tasks to Try Writing Yourself
Research deepens not just by reading, but by 'writing it yourself.'
Here, I have prepared three small experimental tasks for you, the reader.
Task 1: In what situations have you 'hidden' your Oshi?
Task 2: Try writing down the reason you were drawn to your Oshi in one line.
Task 3: Future research subject — In what form would you like to preserve the story of you and your Oshi?
Just by writing it down in a notebook or your smartphone's memo app,
your relationship with your Oshi should start to look a little more three-dimensional.
Observation: Your Oshi is a 'Heart Observation Device'
The existence of an Oshi is like a device for observing your heart from the outside.
Because they reflect not only joy and excitement but also anxiety and pain,
we are able to know ourselves.
'Why am I supporting this person?'
That question is not just for confirming your love for your Oshi,
but also a door to discovering your own true wishes.
