Sharing the 3 Real Charms of Mono-Can
I have been participating in a writing school called Mono-Can (Monokaki Camp) since January.
After attending the first two sessions, I realized that choosing Mono-Can was the right decision.
In this post, I will introduce what Mono-Can is and the charms I have felt through my actual experience.
I hope this serves as a reference for those who are thinking, "I want to know the honest opinions of people attending a writing school!"
1. What is Mono-Can?
Mono-Can is a three-month online writing school hosted by copywriter Mayo Noguchi (hereinafter referred to as Mayo-Mayo sensei).
The curriculum is specialized in "E-books x SNS x Copywriting."
A key feature is that you can hone your skills through practice rather than just learning theory.
2. Why did I choose Mono-Can?
I joined Mono-Can because I felt the limits of my self-taught writing.
I had worked as a writer for about a year before, but I couldn't earn much due to low rates, and I ended up giving up after hurting my back.
I read books and learned writing on social media, but whenever I actually wrote, I would revert to my own self-taught ways.
At that time, a phrase I saw on Mayo-Mayo sensei's social media really struck a chord with me.
"Self-taught leads to accidents."
I thought, "That's exactly me," and decided to attend the information session.
When I learned that I could also fulfill my childhood dream of publishing a book, I decided to join immediately.
3. The charms of Mono-Can
From here on, I will introduce three charms of Mono-Can that I have felt since actually enrolling.
1. The courses are extensive
The courses at Mono-Can are more extensive than I imagined.
The main Mono-Can course was advertised on the website as having six sessions.
I thought, "Six main sessions over three months seems manageable," but in reality, six special sessions were added, making the content even richer.
Each main session lasts two hours, and each special session lasts one hour.
In addition, extra supplementary lessons are provided upon student request.
Mayo-Mayo sensei, you're doing too much! (Sorry, I'm actually happy about it.)
For example, there are special sessions like these:
・First-time tax return for writers
・Complete introductory course to X (formerly Twitter)
・Super introductory course to AI writing
The course content is deep, and the frequency is abundant.
I am constantly surprised by how much there is to learn.
2. You can make friends
At Mono-Can, interaction with peers and seniors is very active.
• Online social gatherings are held
• Interactions on X (formerly Twitter) are lively
When I reported the submission of my first assignment on X, I received many encouraging comments from my peers and seniors.

不完全さに悩んで、提出しようとして、やめてを4回くらい繰り返しました💦
他の方の課題提出に背中を押され
「自分で答えを決めるしかない」と覚悟が持てました。

Because of the interaction with peers and seniors, I feel like, "I'll do my best next time too!"
If I were learning alone, I might have been overwhelmed by the number of courses and assignments.
Having an environment where we can support each other is a major charm of Mono-Can.
3. You can face your own life
At Mono-Can, you don't just learn writing techniques.
You also learn to think about your way of life through sharing information.
Until now, I have rarely had the opportunity to face my own life carefully.
However, through the assignments, I have come to think deeply about "What do I want to convey?"
Because of that, I'm always submitting my assignments right at the deadline... (lol).
Through my learning at Mono-Can, I realized that "writing is knowing yourself."
I intend to continue facing myself through sharing information in the future.
Future goals
My goal is to finish all the Mono-Can courses and assignments and publish a book!
And I want to fulfill my dream of "working freely through writing."
First, I will make the most of my learning at Mono-Can and continue to take on challenges.
In two months, I should be able to meet a new version of myself.
