I am happy about my child's growth, but also a little sad
The book I read this time is "Anna ni Anna ni" (So Much, So Much).
It is a picture book that gently depicts the precious things found in casual daily life, in a way that is uniquely Shinsuke Yoshitake.
My child who was once so small.
The days when we walked holding hands.
The days when I was careful to make sure they didn't fall.
Even though I must have wished for them to grow up quickly, before I knew it, they could do more things and were gradually letting go of my hand.
Even though we were together so much.
Even though they were so small.
Even though they relied on me so much.
Every time I turn the page, the joy of my child's growth and a little bit of sadness quietly spread through my heart.
I felt once again that while "growing up" is natural for a child, for a parent, each step is an irreplaceable memory.
When my child is grown up someday, if I read this picture book again, I might see a different view.
It does not depict any special events.
Even so, it was a book that taught me that casual, everyday life is a treasure.
