The Whereabouts of Bangs
Everyday, while I think about wanting to write something, there are days when I feel like saying, "I don't know, today just feels off," and I suppose that's a luxury in itself. There are still so many things I want to accomplish before I feel satisfied that it makes me dizzy, but I never feel dried up or drained. Compared to the days when my life was dull and dry, it's much better, though it's also true that if asked whether I'm fulfilled, I'd tilt my head in doubt. It seems a bit biased to say that sad events visit me uninvited, while joyful events only occasionally drop by with an indifferent face. Are they a tsundere?. After all the enduring I've done so far, I'd like them to come in with a big, flashy entrance. I'm starting to worry that the Goddess of Opportunity has had her bangs grabbed by so many other influential people that she's becomecompletely bald.
Evenif such a goddess existed, it's not hard to imagine that after grumbling like this, she wouldn't just fail to approach me, but would leave even morehurriedlythan a mackerel. In the end, all I can do is keep doing what I need to do today, which is why I've been writing at such length since the beginning. By the way, when I speak like this, why is it that "goddesses" appear so frequently? I don't feel like the blessings would be any different if it were a god. Let's imagine. Suppose it were a god; even if the God of Opportunity only had bangs, thebald spot in the backwould be the same, and the image would be something like Imoaraizaka Kakaricho... ...Thinking about it that way, I wonder if preferences would be divided. If it were a goddess, I could somehow imagine someone like a nun, and if that were meant to represent opportunity or good fortune, I feel like more people would answer "goddess" if asked "which would you rather grab?" Tracing the origins, it seems it wasn't originally a goddess, but as the word spread and took on a life of its own, people re-selected "goddess" as a result of trying to attach an ideal, easy-to-imagine form to opportunity—in short, those invisible, vague things like luck or connections. If that's the case, they could at least leave some hair in the back instead of saying she only has bangs. Even a short haircut would be fine. Or perhaps she is actively donating her hair?
Now, what kind of form does the "goddess" that appears before me take? It might not stop at just physical features; she might even slap me across the face like some goddess of victory. Still, that would be better than nothing appearing at all... no, wait, if the one who appeared turned out to be a bald-spotted god after all, I might just quietly pass him on to someone else.
