Your Weaknesses Might Be 'Locked Treasure Chests'
Have you ever thought of the things you are not good at as 'flaws'?
If so, that is a waste!
Just discovering a 'weakness' has value.
Thank you for joining me again today.
Creating new options!Invention DesignerYuji Imai here.
This time, I will share a way of thinking that might
'skyrocket' your self-esteem.
Please use your imagination.
Now,
everyone has things they are not good at, not just things they are good at, right?
'Ah, I have so many things I'm not good at.'
For those who think this,
please rest assured.
That is 'usable.'
First, to make it easier to understand,
let's talk about 'strengths' as a contrast.
How do you perceive them?
⭐️Things you can do better than others,
⭐️Things you can do for longer than others,
⭐️Things you enjoy doing.
These kinds of things exist, right?
I believe those are your 'talents.'I intend to write about talents in detail in another article.
'Things you are good at' can be compared to,
please imagine them as treasure chests inside you.
When you open the treasure chest,
it contains the 'crystals of power' that allow you to do what you are good at,
or 'magic items'.
That is the feeling.
Now, what about things you are not good at or dislike?
If you perceive these as 'things you lack' or 'flaws',
that is where it ends, but
here, I dare you to imagine a treasure chest once more.

However, this time, it feels like it is locked and cannot be opened normally.
Yes. With this image,
what you thought was 'something that isn't there' has changed into 'something that is there'.
Although you don't usually think about it, the things you are not good at are,
in fact, powers sealed away in locked treasure chests.
"Wait, what does that mean?"
Some people might think that.
Let's change our perspective.
Have you ever heard a story like this?
Person A: "I used to be bad at X, but due to certain circumstances, I had to do it, and while doing it, I became good at it before I knew it."
Person B: "I was interested in X, but I couldn't do it at all, so I felt I was bad at it and gave up. But when I tried seriously one more time, I was suddenly able to do it at some point."
Yes. These people may have obtained the
'key'to the
'locked treasure chest that wouldn't open.'
That treasure chest,
although it is difficult to open,
contained a useful ability once opened.
That is what it means.
And that's not all I want to say.
This locked treasure chest.
If you can open it, your self-affirmation
(the power to recognize your own value)
will increase tremendously.
"I can do so much that I couldn't do before!"
"Wow! I can do more than I thought!"
Once you experience that feeling,
you can take on subsequent challenges with confidence, and your ability to
overcome weaknesses will level up,making you better at opening treasure chest keys!
Then, everything seems like it would become more fun, right!
But there is a point of caution.
If you focusonlyon opening the locked treasure chest,
(if you only put effort into being able to do things you are bad at),
it takes time and is difficult, isn't it?
Therefore,
I think it is better to choose which treasure chest to challenge.
My recommended 'how to choose a treasure chest'
The basics are your strengths.
'Unlocked treasure chests'(things you are good at)
should be used more and more. I think it is best to develop your abilities by focusing on them.
By doing that, you will improve your abilities in a short time and have fun while doing so.
And then, when you feel
'I have to find another way to deal with this!'
.
Try looking inside yourself.
If you discover a 'weakness,' that is a treasure chest.
Just discovering it has value.
Which treasure chest will you challenge? Or will you choose a strategy to avoid it and move on?
It is up to you.
So, which 'locked treasure chest' will you choose to try and open?
The tips for choosing are:
Things you are weak at but...
⭐️ 'Things you are interested in'
⭐️ 'Things you have thought about wanting to try someday'
⭐️ 'Things that would make your life more fun if you could do them'
⭐️ 'Things that would double the effect if combined with your strengths'
⭐️ 'Things that seem best to overcome for your life plan'
.
I have also, from the past to the present,
focused on my strengths of 'invention' x 'design' to
develop my 'strong abilities,' while
I have written in other articles about how I have managed to deal with things I felt weak at,
'English' 'drawing (sketching)'
.
When you can do something you 'could not do' before,
it gives you a lot of confidence,
and it changes your worldview, so I recommend it!
I am also currently challenging myself to open a new lock!
I will write about it in another article, too.
Conclusion: Just discovering a weakness has value.
Whether to open the 'locked treasure chest' or avoid it.
Let's plan our strategy.
If you can open the lock,
you will gain new abilities and your world will expand!
Life starts to feel like an adventure and becomes fun, doesn't it!
Thank you for reading today as well!
⭐️ May you gain new perspectives and options, and spend your time with a rich heart! ⭐️
