A Presence of Light Beyond Words
Every day, we use the tool of language to categorize and
try to understand the world.
However,
there are things that words cannot reach that
certainly exist in this world.
It is a nameless existence,
something that can only be called “that” which lurks beyond perception.
Though it cannot be grasped by logic,
it is something that touches the depths of the heart as an experience.
It is as if
light has become a soft, invisible wave
gently touching the skin.
Is it strange to “believe” in
such an existence?
No,
I believe it is a very natural thing.
There are people who can sense
beings like gods or spirits that cannot be seen or proven.
It is an act akin to a wish, “believing because one wants to believe.”
In the world of intellect, this might be something ambiguous.
But,
there are places in the world that cannot be fully illuminated by the light of reason alone.
People can feel what dwells in those depths
through experience.
And that experience is not just something to hold quietly within oneself,
but can be passed on to someone nearby
as a way of living.
To believe is
to live as one believes.
Through that way of living,
to gently light a flame in someone else's heart.
To convey through one's actions
what words cannot reach.
That may be the true meaning of “faith.”
May your quiet flame
someday become a guide for someone else.
