Walking the Night Once More
Sora of Sorane from.
I sometimes
walk slowly through the city at night.
Small lights I hadn't noticed during the day
are flickering faintly in the depths of the alleyways.
They are the places where
the feelings I left behind and
the memories that should have ended long ago
are breathing quietly.
What I called pain,
and what I named regret,
were in truth just standing there all along.
The night does not blame them.
It simply accepts them, wraps them in its embrace,
and sends me on my way.
Sometimes,
rather than "forgetting,"
"living together" with them is what becomes
healing for the soul.
Today, too,
I walk the night.
Until the morning comes again,
as if to
quietly read on the next chapter of my own story.
