Voice of the Night Pharmacy Night 6 | A World You Can Shake
The Voice of the Night Pharmacy appeared quietly on a night when I was finally able to put into words, "I have no freedom."
She sat down in the chair, paused for a moment, and said this.
"I have no freedom."
There were many reasons, and none of them were things that could be easily moved.
My environment.
My position.
Circumstances that cannot be changed right away.
I gently slid the small snow globe that had been on the counter in front of her.
Inside, there was a small town.
A quiet scene with no one around.

"It looks like it's trapped," she said, peering into the dome.
Without answering, I gave the snow globe a light shake.
Inside the transparent sphere, white particles slowly swirled upward.
The world inside hadn't changed at all.
The buildings, the streets, and the scenery were all still there.
However, the snow was definitely moving.
For a while, she watched that movement without saying a word.
There are no voices in this shop that deny the lack of freedom.
We don't keep words here that say, "If you can't get out, then it's no good."
Until the snow settled, we watched the same scene in silence.
Sometimes, that is enough for a night.
Eventually, she gave a small nod and opened the door.
Nothing had been solved.
The situation still hadn't moved.
But it was the night she realized for the first time that even within a closed world, there are things you can shake with your own hands.
The Voice of the Night Pharmacy remains quietly lit, even for those who cannot move.
