AI Orchestration
Turning 100 pieces of 'buried information' into 'knowledge'
In this day and age, if you don't use 'information,' it's just the same as 'trash'. It just increases the used storage on your Mac...
(I'm a Mac user, not a Windows user)
It's good to organize information periodically, but
each time, moving necessary items to an easy-to-understand place.
That's the best way, isn't it? Information is freshest right when you collect it.
Having said that,
countless 'Pages' documents were sleeping on my Mac too. Information, thought notes, and project records accumulated over several years.
They were pushed to the depths of folders, just waiting to be utilized as 'information baggage'.
The other day, I repurposed that 'information baggage.'
Using a feature called Claude's 'Cowork', I had the AI perform 'automatic execution'.
'Find all Pages files in the subdirectories, convert them to PDF, and consolidate them in one place (create a folder named PDF in the Downloads folder).'
On the screen, over 100 files changed their form one after another and were lined up.
It completed a task that would have taken a considerable amount of time if done manually by a human in just a few minutes.
What's even more surprising is that I was able to incorporate audio data into it as well.
I instructed it to transcribe and convert audio files to PDF.
Then, Claude autonomously called 'superwhisper' installed on my Mac and converted the audio to text, and then to PDF.
It performed exactly as I expected,
and all the documents were gathered in one folder.
However, this was actually just 'preparation.'
The real goal lay beyond this.
Breaking away from 'tool proficiency'
ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude...
I use various ones, but they have evolved rapidly since the beginning of this year.
Amidst that, the phase of performance competition waged by each company.
From a user's perspective,
I feel that is already coming to an end.
(They are updated frequently, and in performance comparisons, companies are constantly overtaking each other.)
'This AI has a higher generation level'
'I'll use this AI'
From that phase,
'Use ChatGPT for this, Gemini for that, and Claude is useful for this kind of thing'
like that, taking the best parts of each AI's functions and characteristics.
That's right. You should just use one AI you like.
It's no longer that kind of era...
The stage we are at now in using AI
is not about worrying about 'which AI is superior,' but
'how to incorporate multiple AIs and apply them to your own environment (work),' evolving into a place for coordination.
What will I use these 100 PDFs for?
The original purpose was Google's 'NotebookLM'.
The moment the 100 documents that existed separately were moved to the library called NotebookLM, they turned into a single private AI.
Possessing your own 'knowledge book' with past materials as background.
Automatic generation of 'audio commentary' in podcast format.
Instant output of slide decks from the perspective of others (AI).
An "ecosystem" of information
When solving a problem,
you select an AI from among many to act as the "hands and feet" to carry out the work.
Then, using those results, another AI acts as the "heart" to analyze the information.
Yet another AI acts as the "brain" to generate new value.
What we need to do is not use individual tools separately (like word processors, PDF conversion, or Finder operations), nor spend time fine-tuning prompts.
We must build an architecture: "which AI to connect, in what order, and for what purpose."
This is the "true creativity" required in the coming era.
The future of work
My learning through this experience is that
the phrase "mastering AI"
implies a sense of distance, as if treating AI as something external.
However,AI is already becoming a part of our "brains".
Convert Pages to PDF.
Convert audio to text.
Integrate them to generate new slides or audio.
When we become able to perform this sequence of flows naturally,
our productivity will exceed the level of mere "improvement."
And,we will enter a new realm that can be called "creating value".
Do you have "information baggage" on your Mac?
Will you let it end as mere records,
or will you turn it into a weapon as "knowledge" that creates your future?
Let's enjoy "AI Orchestration."
Thank you for today as well.
I am grateful.
