Yoshimi Sakaguchi Profile

Nice to meet you. I am Yoshimi Sakaguchi🌿

I worked at a financial institution for 30 years, where I was long involved in training new employees and guiding customer service as a manager.

During my tenure, experiencing breast cancer twice led me to decide that I wanted to live more cherishably for myself, which prompted a major turning point in my life.

Currently, I gently unravel
personality understanding, strength discovery, and emotional distance to walk alongside those working with people, helping them acquire communication skills and mutual understanding that are true to themselves.

💛 I am especially here for people like this:

  • Those in customer service or the service industry who get exhausted from trying too hard to accommodate customers

  • Instructors, coaches, or counselors who find it difficult to grasp the type of person they are dealing with

  • Those who are troubled because they feel like they are not being understood despite their efforts to communicate

  • Those who are unsure about the appropriate distance to maintain with students or customers

  • Those who are not good at sales pitches and want to maintain a gentle approach to customer service

Knowing your strengths, mental habits, and comfort points is a major asset for “jobs that involve communicating with and relating to people,” allowing you to demonstrate your own charm.

There are still many charms and talents within you that remain dormant.

Gently, lightly, and in your own way. Customer service and teaching can be easier and more fun. I deliver such hints on note.

I have prepared a gift at the end. I would be happy if you could read until the end♪

What is ISD Personality Psychology?

ISD stands for "INSTITUTE OF DISCOVERY," which means "Self-Discovery Research Institute."

In ISD Personality Psychology, by knowing and acknowledging your innate essence, you can realize your "one-of-a-kind self" and acquire the thinking and behavioral guidelines to live more easily.

It can be applied to customer service methods by personality type, organizational management, educational settings, and communication with family.

People from a wide range of fields, including nurses, childcare workers, insurance managers, educators, customer service professionals, counselors, and homemakers, have taken my courses.

My Life Story

I will tell you my life story up to the present.

I was born in 1967 as the eldest of three sisters.
I grew up without any hardships under a patriarchal father and a stay-at-home mother who handled all the housework perfectly.

That peaceful and happy family life collapsed in an instant during the summer of my first year of high school.
My father, who had returned from a business trip of about a month, collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage in the middle of the night. Without regaining consciousness, he passed away by dawn.

At the time, I loved playing the piano and dreamed of going to a music college.
My mother, who used to be energetic, became bedridden, and due to our financial situation, I gave up on my dream of higher education and decided to find a job.

Joined a financial institution after graduating from high school

After graduating from a local commercial high school in 1985, I joined a financial institution.
I was assigned to a branch office and gained experience in internal administration, sales, and as a system migration manager.

Although I had given up on my dream of music college, every day was exciting after I started working.
I enjoyed learning the work and realized that I was good at routine tasks.

I began to be chosen for positions of responsibility, such as being appointed as a system migration lead in my fourth year at the company, and my confidence grew.

During this time, at age 37, I was promoted to section chief. Since it was an era when very few women held management positions, I was happy, but it was also a source of pressure.

From this point on, my overtime increased, my eating habits became irregular, and I fell into a state of excessive stress.

Marriage and Divorce

I married at 21. Although I was blessed with a son and a daughter, I worked like a demon, to the point where I hardly ever participated in my children's school events.

I felt a sense of purpose and responsibility in my own way, and since I was living with my mother, I left the child-rearing entirely to her.

As I continued that life, the difference in values between me and my husband, who wanted to cherish family time, became clear, and I divorced at 30.

Less than a year later, my ex-husband took his own life.

After that, I immersed myself even more in my work, continuing to work from early morning until late at night. My life became chaotic, and I felt like I was being crushed by stress and pressure.

In my eighth year at the company, I became a branch office section chief, and subsequently served as a deputy manager, engaging in internal control and human resource development.

Two bouts of breast cancer

Tragedy struck me while I was living such a hard life, in my second year as a section chief.

A malignant tumor was discovered during my first breast cancer screening.

Fortunately, it was caught early, so I only needed a partial resection and returned to work a month later.

I was promoted to a management position a year later, but the pressure only continued to increase.

I couldn't get work arrangements out of my head, and even at home, I could never escape the tension.

I continued living like that every day, but then another life-changing event occurred.

Six years after my breast cancer, just when I was starting to feel relieved, a new tumor was discovered.

I was stunned, wondering why this had to happen to me twice.

Deciding to Resign

Although I underwent treatment and returned to work, I began to wonder if continuing to work this way was truly a happy life for me.

I started to feel that I wanted to shine more as a woman and as an individual, and I ultimately decided to resign.

Actually...

There was another reason why I decided to resign.

In truth, when I returned to work, I hadn't even considered resigning.

Because my second breast cancer required radiation therapy, I took two months off before returning.

Feeling sorry for the trouble I had caused by being away for so long, I returned with the intention of dedicating myself even more to my work.

However, reality was not that simple.

Shortly after I returned, I was given a letter of appointment along with the kind words, 'Why don't you take it a little easier?'

It was a notice that I would no longer be in a management position, and for me, it was a humiliating outcome.

I felt as though everything I had worked so hard to build over 30 years had collapsed in an instant.

I no longer had a place where I belonged, and it felt as if a hole had opened up in my heart.

In the end, I didn't have the motivation left to fill that hole.

Given these circumstances, I decided to resign, but I had absolutely no intention of finding another job.

The truth is, while I acknowledged that I had worked hard, I was also aware, somewhere in my heart, that I had been harboring the naive notion that I was protected by the organization.

For my second act in life, I felt a strong desire to work in a way where I could be appreciated for my own efforts.

Opening a Relaxation Salon

After resigning, I opened a relaxation salon with the desire to create a place and space where women of my generation could heal their minds and bodies.

While I was still employed, the only time I felt free from stress was during the weekly lymphatic treatments I attended.

The warmth of the therapist's hands, the slowly flowing time, and the space healed by the scent of aroma.

Only during those moments did I feel a sense of comfort, as if I were in another world.

As I continued to go, I began taking technical training courses to learn how to perform the treatments myself, thinking, 'Someday, I want to become a woman who can heal people's hearts, too.'

However, at the time, I only thought of it as a hobby, so I never imagined it would become the first step toward starting a business.

Looking back now, I feel it was destiny, as all those painful experiences were connected after all.

But even with the desire to open a business, I had absolutely no entrepreneurial know-how.

Thinking, 'I just want people to know I exist,' I started an Ameblo blog.

It was an era when it was said that the standard way to attract customers for a privately owned beauty salon was through Ameblo.

I resigned at the end of March 2014. I decided that the opening date would be January 15th, one year later, which is my birthday.

I had no idea how many people were interested, but I just kept posting every single day.

Perhaps my feelings got through, as I received two reservations on the opening day. I still clearly remember how truly moved I was.

From then on, I began to receive steady reservations through Ameblo.

I realized that action is more necessary than skills or know-how.

Encounter with Color Psychology

When I was looking to learn more about entrepreneurial know-how, I met an esthetician.

That teacher was also originally a solo salon owner, but after learning color psychology, she hired staff and her salon gradually grew larger.

I decided to study color psychology, hoping that I could increase my sales and apply it to salon management in the same way.

You can use color psychology to increase purchasing motivation, and it can also be used to support customers.

I was also able to achieve my goals by using the power of color, which led to an increase in sales.

I used to take a long time to warm up to people I met for the first time, but by knowing the customer's type in advance, I changed to being able to serve them with a calm expression and conversation without feeling nervous.

I express the charm and talent that customers possess through 12 colors and advise them on how to incorporate them into their daily lives, which has broadened the scope of my communication and made them happy.

Another thing I realized was good to study is the rhythm of luck.

Humans cannot act with the same energy all the time, can they?

By making action plans that match the rhythm, such as when to act actively toward the outside, when to prepare your inner self and body, and when to advertise when you have popularity luck, my sales stabilized throughout the year.

Decrease in reservations during the COVID-19 pandemic

However, just when things seemed to be going well, the COVID-19 pandemic occurred.

During the three years of the COVID-19 pandemic that everyone experienced, naturally, customers drifted away from my salon as well.

I had a lighthearted attitude, thinking, 'I'll just have to endure it until COVID settles down.'

At that time, I had not yet realized that the world's values had changed significantly.

While I was happy and grateful that customers were coming to my salon, I had not grasped the true needs of my customers.

As reservations decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was anxious and felt frustrated, not knowing what to do.

Thinking it was a waste to just let time pass, I took all kinds of seminars, including writing and dieting.

Encounter with Personality Psychology

While spending my time like that, I encountered personality psychology.

I took a personality analysis with a light heart, thinking it sounded interesting, but I got goosebumps, thinking, 'How can you understand even this part of my personality?!'

During my time as a manager, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't gain confidence. They were able to put into words even those complexes and feelings that were deep in my heart.

I could only ever think about things from the other person's perspective, and I hated that I would always just go along with others even when I was asked for my opinion due to my position.

Telling myself that I 'had to be stronger' or 'needed to have more confidence' was actually just me fighting against the 'me-ness' I was born with.

The feelings I had back then came flooding out, and I finally felt released from that pressure.

I was shocked to learn that my relationship with my son, whose actions and words I couldn't understand, was simply a communication gap caused by our different values.

I began to feel strongly that I wanted to help people who were struggling with a lack of confidence just like I was, or those troubled by communication issues with their children or at work, so I obtained my certification as an instructor.

Realizing the talents I was born with

At some point, I started to think that I might have a strong sensitivity for perceiving other people's feelings.

I also found out that this was a talent I was born with, clearly written on my analysis sheet.

Now, I convey each person's individuality using my own original words, just as I feel them.

Just by looking at a client's analysis sheet, my thoughts turn to their innate essence and where they shine, and images come to me one after another.

The moment my excitement in conveying this merges with the client's excitement in receiving it is the most moving moment for me.

Furthermore, by overlapping the phenomena shown on the analysis sheet with the stories of their life experiences, I can instantly identify where the gap with reality lies and lighten the burden on their heart.

I love and excel at unraveling how the life story a person has walked is connected to their innate essence, and discovering the value hidden within them alone.

Sharing the moment when someone is so deeply moved that their soul trembles is my greatest happiness.

Feedback from those who have received a personality analysis

I have received the following feedback from those who have undergone a personality analysis.

'After the diagnosis, I understood my own essence and strengths, and I felt like I was given a push to just be myself and utilize my strengths without forcing myself or trying too hard. The diagnosis was explained clearly using many different perspectives, and it really resonated with me. I could deeply feel the care you had for me.'

'Being able to hear in words the parts of my instincts that never change made me feel very convinced about the actions I took in the past. It was also very interesting to learn that if you don't use the right way of speaking or interacting that suits a person's nature, even actions taken with good intentions can have the opposite effect.'

'I want to keep moving forward for myself and for the people around me! Sometimes when I think about things alone, I don't feel motivated and it's hard to move forward, but I'm happy because meeting you always boosts my motivation again. I want to be someone who can be an ally to others and give them a push, too!'

My dream

Lastly, please let me share my dream with you.

My father suddenly passed away. I also find myself wondering if there was anything I could have done for my ex-husband, who took his own life within a year of our divorce.

Furthermore, I have had the experience of being diagnosed with breast cancer twice myself.

It is precisely because of these life experiences that I want everyone I meet to live their lives to the fullest. I hope they live in a way that allows them to think, 'That was truly fun,' when they reach the end of their lives.

I also want to create a society where every woman, having experienced all the joys and sorrows of life, can continue to find purpose in her work and life, even as her stage changes, rather than just being an extension of an organization or family.

To that end, my goal is to build a safe and secure community that connects people, where we can share our dreams, empathize with one another, and move toward a future where we support each other.

I strongly desire to pass on the spirit and the sight of adults excitedly talking about their dreams to the children who will carry the future.

Without worrying about what others think, I will continue to support you throughout my life, in my own small way, so that you can live to the fullest by maximizing your value and potential as an individual.
