Why did I start no+e?

Self-Introduction

Nice to meet you! I'm Yoshiko.
I'd like those who visit to get to know me a little,
so I'd like to speak candidly.
I look forward to connecting with you!

I was born and raised in Saitama Prefecture. It has already been 25 years since I moved to the U.S. for study abroad.

In these 25 years, I have moved 7 times and lived in various states and cities.
West Coast, East Coast, rural areas, cities. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
Not only the weather, but the English accents, how people maintain personal boundaries, and values regarding work differ; America is truly vast, and there is much to learn from scratch in every place I live.

When I first arrived in the U.S., I was stunned that the English I thought I had learned in Japan was not usable at all, and because I couldn't understand things, I felt frustrated, irritated... and beyond that, there were many times I cried alone from loneliness...

After graduating from university, I worked in telecommunications, software, consulting, and trading companies, where I was moved by the ease of working in American society, puzzled by the differences from Japan, and was able to learn business English on the job.

In my personal life, I had an international marriage and was blessed with a cute boy. Choosing a school for my child, building relationships with other moms, communicating with teachers—in America, everything was something I had never experienced before, and doing it for my child was harder than I imagined (though it is still a work in progress...). Even so, I think I was able to manage because I had already become somewhat accustomed to the American system, culture, and English.

I decided to start this no+e because I thought that if sharing my experiences and the English expressions I've learned could provide a hint to someone... in this era where anyone can share information, maybe there is something I can do too?! So I decided to give it a try!

I'm not used to writing, but this is a courageous first step!

I hope my experiences can reach those interested in English, those interested in America, those who love traveling abroad, those studying abroad, working as expats, or immigrating, those considering these things, and many others.

What do I want to share on no+e?

I hope to share English expressions I've cultivated through life in America, daily life, things about my child's school, things I've noticed while living here, and things I think are unique to America.

Your likes and follows are encouraging!
I will do my best to earn your support, so thank you!
