職場の後輩が背中を押してくれた画家への道

私にとって、この作品は単なる一枚の絵ではありません。 それは、私が自分の描いたものを「人に見せる」という、人生の大きな一歩を踏み出すきっかけとなった、運命的な作品です。

それまでの私は、描いた絵を誰かに披露することを全く意識していませんでした。 けれどある時、職場の若い女性の後輩が、真っ直ぐな瞳で私にこう言ったのです。

「一度、絵を見せてください」

その一言に背中を押されるようにして、私はこの絵を彼女の元へ持っていきました。 これが、私の長い人生の中で、自分の作品を初めて他者の目に触れさせた瞬間。私が「表現者」として世に出る、本当の意味での始まりでした。

水面を力強く蹴り、光の中を突き進む馬たち。 無我夢中でこの「はじまりの水飛沫（しぶき）」を描き上げたとき、私の中で何かが弾けました。

「自分を表現し、世に問うていいんだ」

あの日、彼女の言葉に応えてこの絵を見せた勇気が、今の私の活動の原点であり、表現スタイル「72歳画家修業」へと繋がる道を作ってくれました。

あの日の一歩がなければ、今の私はいなかったかもしれません。 見てくださる方の心にも、何かを変えるための、力強いエネルギーが届くことを願っています。

A Junior Colleague at Work Encouraged Me to Become a Painter

For me, this work is more than just a painting. It's a fateful piece that became the catalyst for me taking a major step in my life: "showing my work to others."

Until then, I had never considered showing my paintings to anyone. But one day, a young female colleague at work looked me straight in the eyes and said:

"Please let me see your painting sometime."

That single sentence gave me the push I needed, and I took the painting to her. This was the first time in my long life that I had shown my work to others. It was the true beginning of my emergence as an "artist" into the world.

Horses powerfully kicking the water's surface, charging through the light. When I finished painting this "Splashing Water of the Beginning" with single-minded focus, something snapped inside me.

"It's okay to express yourself and put yourself out there."

The courage I showed her this painting in response to her words that day is the origin of my current activities and paved the way for my expressive style, "72-Year-Old Painter's Apprenticeship."

Without that step I took that day, I might not be where I am today. I hope that my work will also reach the hearts of those who see it, providing a powerful energy to bring about change.
