Springtime at Okedaki Falls: Overflowing with Light

石川県輪島市にある名勝「桶滝」を描きました。春の訪れとともに雪解け水が勢いを増し、岩に穿たれた大きな穴から水が溢れ出す様子を表現しています。木々の間から差し込む柔らかな朝日が、激しい水流を優しく包み込んでいます。

I painted "Okedaki Falls," a famous scenic spot in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. I captured the powerful flow of melting snow as it spills through the large natural hole in the rock with the arrival of spring. The soft morning sunlight filtering through the trees gently embraces the rushing torrent.

72歳、画家としての道を歩み始めてから、自然の力強さと繊細さに改めて圧倒される毎日です。この桶滝の力強い流れのように、私も迷いなく筆を動かしていきたいという願いを込めて描きました。未熟な点も多いですが、一筆一筆に今の私の全力を注いでいます。

Since starting my journey as a painter at the age of 72, I am overwhelmed daily by the strength and delicacy of nature. I painted this with the hope that I, too, can move my brush without hesitation, just like the powerful flow of Okedaki Falls. Although I still have much to learn, I pour my entire heart into every single stroke.
