Thumbnail Character Collection: "Yuki's Hundred Faces"
Since around the end of last year, I started changing the character in my thumbnails to match the article.
Has anyone noticed?
It hasn't even been half a year yet, but since there are quite a few now, I decided to gather them all into one image.
I would be happy if this image brings back memories or feels fresh to you.
Have you noticed the thumbnails?
If you look at my creator page, you'll see thatmy thumbnails are based on a composition of text on the left and a character on the right.
As for this character, in the beginning, I used to choose from about three patterns to match the content.
Has anyone noticed that since around the end of last year, this character has also been changing with each article?
Since note is a text-based medium, I thought I didn't need to put much effort into thumbnails, but considering they are a factor in deciding whether or not to read an article, I realized it's not good to be too lazy with them.
With the recentimprovements in accuracy and speed of AI image generation, I decided to put a little more effort into the character part as well.

By the way, some that I generated but didn't end up using are mixed in as well.
When you collect them like this, you can see how the impression changes with expressions, poses, outfits, and accessories.
I also generated the logo with AI, and it's surprising that it can do things like this.
An era has arrived where if you want to make something that looks decent, AI is fine.😱

A little bit about thumbnails
I have a basic template for my thumbnails, and this has the purpose ofmaking it so people know it's my article just by looking at the thumbnail and reducing the points I have to worry about when creating a thumbnail.
After all, I want to focus on writing articles here on note.
I create my thumbnails using Photoshop.
What I keep in mind is readability.
I make sure the text doesn't get buried in the image and is clearly legible.
Also, aside from the small text, I make sure the large text is visible even on smartphones.

I will continue to create characters for my thumbnails.
That was a story about collecting my thumbnail characters.
It's quite moving to see that so many characters have been created in less than half a year.
I plan to continue changing the characters to match my articles as much as possible.
