Sheltered Girl (Weekly Short-Short Note)

Once upon a time, just a little while ago, back when there was no internet.
A-ko was a sheltered girl among sheltered girls. Such a girl met a man she had had few opportunities to encounter in her life until then.
He was an art student three years older than A-ko, living in an old apartment and working part-time at a restaurant as a struggling student. His very way of life was fresh to A-ko.
He invited her, asking if she would like to go to an art museum with him.
A-ko always traveled in a car with a chauffeur. However, she had never even gotten on or off a bus, let alone a train, by herself. While talking about this, A-ko felt ashamed of herself for leaving all her daily needs to servants.
On the day they were supposed to go to the art museum, he came near A-ko's house and handed her a Japanese-style bound book, saying he had written down the itinerary for the day.
She rode the bus with him, rode the train... and each time, A-ko would add notes about things like what the bus stop looked like or how to buy a ticket. They enjoyed the art museum, took a break at a cafe, and he walked her to the bus stop near her house, ending their outing for the day.
A-ko wanted to know more about his ordinary life, so she wrote down the things she wanted to do with him in a Japanese-style bound book and gave it to him.
Thus, the two of them went on outings. Buying clothes and shoes at mass retailers, eating at fast-food restaurants, shopping at individual stores... The Japanese-style bound book had eventually become A-ko's guidebook.
One day, A-ko thought she wanted to try making a bento for him. When she told him that, he gave her a Japanese-style bound book with simple instructions on how to make one.
However, A-ko's only experience with cooking was from a home economics class in elementary school. A-ko's mansion had a private chef, but she was not only forbidden from cooking herself, she wasn't even allowed into the kitchen.
So, she bought a portable gas stove, a pot, a cutting board, and other necessary cooking utensils, and attempted to cook in her own room.
However, it was nothing but failures.
She used dish soap to wash the rice and ended up with it covered in bubbles.
She tried to make a boiled egg and burned herself.
She tried to cut a cucumber and cut her fingertip, including her nail.
A-ko sobbed. She wondered why she couldn't do things the way she wanted.
She left her room to treat her wound, and when she finally returned after the bleeding stopped, flames were dancing in her room...
──As a result, A-ko was disowned and ended up moving in with him.
