The story of just thinking you know.
What kind of story?
Every Sunday, I watch "Soaring Sky! Precure".
After the broadcast, my daughter says, "Let's draw Precure!", so we draw together.
It might not be for anyone's benefit, but here is the illustration I drew.
I think I drew El-chan quite cutely (self-praise).

Characters I see on TV.
Even if I have an image of them in my head, when I actually try to look and draw them, I realize there are many things I didn't know.
It's a bit hard to tell, but El-chan's hairstyle has a silhouette that looks like wings.
She also wears a wing hair accessory.
I didn't notice this just by watching it on TV.
And I didn't notice it just by looking at the anime booklet either.
It was only through the process of having the goal to "draw," looking at the details for that purpose, and moving my hands that I noticed it for the first time.
I thought I knew, but when I tried it, I realized there were things I didn't know.
You might think, "What's so obvious about that?", but this isn't limited to just drawing.

I read something like this in a book by Woman Rush Hour's Muramoto that I'm currently reading.
You read someone's book, put that story into the bookshelf in your head as if it were your own story, and you're just thinking you know it.
And that it's a waste.
Even if you read Muramoto's book, that's just how it looked to Muramoto, that's all.
People's perspectives and what moves their hearts vary.
That's why reading a book is just a starting point.
You can look things up on the internet to get information, but your heart only pretends to be moved.

I've seen it, I've read it in a book, I've read it in a note article...
But that's just "thinking you know," isn't it?
Cooking is exactly like that; you read a recipe and feel like you can do it, but when you actually try... it usually doesn't go well lol
Like forgetting to add a seasoning, or getting the timing wrong.
Actually trying it yourself and repeating failures.
I think that's the only way to truly "know" or "understand."

How would you feel if someone who just reads notes said to you,
"Posting on note every day is easy, right? You're just writing, after all."
You'd think, "Don't act like you know what you're talking about," right? Haha.

I think it's the same thing.
"Knowing" isn't such a simple thing, is it?

You cannot know everything.
Information read in books and the like is, after all, only a starting point for knowing.
That was the kind of Sunday I had, thinking about such things.

In the Pretty Cure series, it seems babies periodically fall from the sky. The baby this time (El-chan) also fell from the sky. Pretty Cure uses magic, but I kind of like that "basically it's hand-to-hand combat." Thank you again today.
