It features a woman with kleptomania living in an ordinary town, the anxiety of a woman who missed her chance to marry, a young mother struggling with childcare... the pitfalls that await their weary hearts.
This is made up of five stories, but...
they are all intense.
Very intense.
Even though it's a short story collection, each one is substantial enough to be a main feature.
What makes them intense is...
the stories themselves, of course, but also...
the depiction of 'exquisitely unpleasant people' is just too good.
'Wow... I can totally imagine someone like this existing...'
It's so exquisite that...
I involuntarily furrowed my brow.
I involuntarily let out a bitter laugh.
The depiction of twisted personalities is so skillful that I can imagine the characters quite realistically.
Mizuki Tsujimura is truly amazing.

And while all the stories were intense,
especially the fifth one,
'The Kidnapping of the Kimimoto Family',
I could realistically imagine the situation, and it gave me goosebumps.
It's the baby I've always wanted, but why is it only me who is having such a hard time? The stroller disappeared during a momentary lapse in my attention.
It's fiction, but...
I felt like it could really happen.
The protagonists are a mother in her 30s and her 10-month-old baby.
Reading it, memories of childcare during infancy came flooding back.
Not only for those with childcare experience,
but I really want those who don't have it to read this too.
The hardships of childcare are...
being shouted about in various places and in various styles, but...
I thought this was quite realistic.

Even after finishing, the lingering effect is incredible.
It's overwhelming.

I always wonder, what on earth are authors like Mizuki Tsujimura thinking? Their power of human observation and descriptive ability are so high, it's truly amazing.
