[New Book Announcement] What Does It Mean to Measure the 'Capacity of a Person'? Practical Measurement Methods in Adult Development Theory
I am pleased to announce that on February 28th, I will be publishing a translation of a book by Dr. Otto Laske, whom I once studied under, with the supervision of my acquaintance Ryo Nakadoi!
Pre-orders have already begun, and you can purchase it here.
Since no measurement manual for assessing the capacity of a person has been published in Japanese until now, I hope that those interested in developmental assessment will pick up a copy.
Book Content
Following the publication of 'Immunity to Change: How to Overcome It and Unlock the Potential in Yourself and Your Organization,' adult development theory has begun to be incorporated into human resource and organizational development. However, the only answer provided to the questions of 'How can we incorporate this into practice?' and 'How do we measure a person's developmental stage and approach them accordingly?' has been the immunity map introduced by Dr. Kegan in that book.
In reality, Professor Kegan also developed a developmental assessment method (Subject-Object Interview), but there has been no Japanese book introducing it until now.
This book, written by Dr. Otto Laske—who studied under Dr. Kegan and has himself contributed significantly to the development of adult development theory—explains Dr. Kegan's Subject-Object Interview and introduces further developed methods for measuring developmental stages.
It is a book that not only provides a foundation for understanding the conceptual framework of adult development theory but also shows a path for applying it in the field.
