【Peace of mind with 🐱】 To those of you who worry about the increase or decrease of your followers. I am truly grateful for your support.

Good evening, everyone!

Last month, I released a tool to hide the number of note followers so you don't get swayed by numbers.

(It's a Chrome extension)

I recently updated the features so you can hide them with emojis other than cats!

Dolphin fans and those with cat allergies can now rest easy! Thank you to everyone who requested emojis.

You can access this option by:

Clicking the extension icon from the bar at the top of your browser,

and selecting "Options" from the three-dot menu.

If you haven't installed it because you thought, "I'm a dog person, so cats are a bit..." I would be happy if you would take this opportunity to try it out!

(It's free)

And, when I made this update, something really wonderful happened...!

Yuhi-san and,

Then Peku-san also,

They reposted this update on X!
I am filled with happiness.

On top of that, they even wrote further reviews in the store...!

Since you have to write them with a Google account rather than a note account, I think some people might have hesitated, but they wrote them anyway.

I am truly grateful.

The joy of development, felt once again

When I write programs for work, I almost never get the chance to be directly supported by users like this, so I feel incredibly happy.

(From users at work, basically only complaints reach the developer's ears... After all, for most people, it's expected that a system should just work.)

Technically, this is just a small, low-difficulty tool, but even so, when it's actually used like this, I feel the joy of development.

It reminded me of when I first started programming, back when I used to create things while thinking, 'I want to see the look of joy on someone's face,' and it brought tears to my eyes. It feels nostalgic, like coming home.

Changes in myself

There has been a happy change in me as well.

Something I realized again after using this tool for testing.

I realized that I was actually quite braced for impact whenever I accessed my own profile.

I thought I was the type who 'doesn't care about numbers,' but it doesn't make me 'happy' when the count is lower than I remember. So, to endure the pain, I was unconsciously tensing my body a little when opening the page.

But now that it's a 🐱 or a 🐶, I feel my body relax, thinking, 'Oh, there was nothing to be afraid of...'

Of course, I can still see it if I want to by hovering the mouse over it.

I repeat, I am truly happy to have people follow me.

'But I can check who followed me in the notifications tab. I don't get notifications for unfollows, but I don't really want to know about those one by one anyway. Therefore, there is no need to be able to see the numbers at every moment.'

That is my way of thinking.

Furthermore, when I consider whether or not to follow someone, there are times when I don't want to take the number of followers into account much. There are many things more important than the 'number of followers'.

So, I feel glad that I made this, for my own sake as well.

Future plans

Since it seems to be working stably for now, I think I will handle future updates as needed.

・Make it selectable whether to hide only your own numbers or others' as well (Technically, I haven't thought of a way other than registering your own noteID. I'll think about it later...)
・Make emoji options easier to access
・Randomize the hidden emojis (This was Yuuhi-san's idea)
・I've also heard that depending on the environment, emojis might not look cute. (Doesn't a cat not being cute violate the laws of physics?) Compared to emojis, stability is lower due to environment dependency, but maybe I should add an option to replace them with cat images I've prepared...

I have ideas like these.
If you are using it and have any requests, please let me know.

Also, since I sometimes find myself feeling happy or sad about changes in the number of likes, I've been thinking about creating a tool that can hide them in a similar way (not hiding them completely, but giving you a rough idea like 🐱😻😽 based on the count) if there is demand for it...

Once again, thank you so much to everyone who uses it.
It is truly encouraging.
Please continue to take care of the cats.
