A society where everyone can live is a superior one

The strength of a democratic society lies in people with diverse ideas working together to build that society.

It is good to have many different kinds of people.

Some people have high linguistic processing skills and excel in white-collar jobs, while others find such work difficult.

Some are assertive and skilled at sales, while others struggle to express themselves.

But that is fine. That is exactly how it should be.

After all, a society consisting only of "assertive people skilled at sales" might be "super good at sales" but fail at everything else, leading to economic collapse due to sloppy accounting and calculations.

While it is true that salaries inevitably vary by profession and the world is currently structured to favor those with aptitudes suited to in-demand jobs...

That does not mean those who do not fit that mold are unnecessary; it is often the case that such individuals can demonstrate their strengths in certain situations.

That is why we should not discard anyone, but instead build a society where everyone can live. That is what makes a resilient, strong society.

On the other hand, there are people living with illnesses, disabilities, and various other challenges. The opinions of such individuals might, in certain situations, prove useful in solving some problem.

Even as living organisms, having diversity is a strength. When external environments or values change drastically in the future, even if one group with certain characteristics cannot adapt, another group might, surviving and carrying life into the future.

What will prove successful is something we cannot know until the time comes.

It is okay to do what you love

A society where everyone is doing what they love is stronger.

A child who observes insects every single day, even if others think they are a "strange kid," might grow up to become an entomologist.

Someone obsessed with minerals that no one else pays attention to might, in the future, produce research results that provide a breakthrough when space development hits a wall.

However, if we strictly limit people's actions and behavior every day, dismissing things as "useless" or "meaningless" and excluding diversity, then when a problem arises that cannot be solved by "conventional approaches," we will be unable to take a different approach, and the problem may end up deadlocked.

That is why it is good for us to freely do what we love, in our own way. Even if it lacks economic rationality, or even if others do not understand the meaning, it is good to pursue what you want to do.

It might look like "selfishness" to others, but it could be an action that, in the long run, holds the potential to benefit the entire human species.

Even if it does not produce great results in that person's own life, it might become a source of strength for those living in future generations.

Who knows what the outcome will be?

Diversity is not just a platitude

There is a tendency to dismiss the phrase "consideration for diversity" as just a "platitude," but that is not the case. Ensuring diversity is a rational and beneficial orientation for society as a whole.

This is the meaning of "diversity" in a democratic society.

Therefore, even if you, the reader, cannot get those around you to understand what you are doing, or cannot adapt well to society, that is still okay. That is actually good.

Regardless of your position, you are a member of society and one of many exploring souls harboring some kind of potential.

The fact that you and I are alive and pursuing what we love has meaning that goes beyond visible effects or results.

When you can no longer believe in your own worth, please remember this.
