[Boxing] 43 fights, 42 wins (41 KOs), 1 draw: Deontay Wilder heads to a fated rematch with Tyson Fury, the only man he has drawn against!!
43 professional fights, 42 wins (41 KOs), 1 draw
What kind of manga-like record is this...
However, it is real. Someone like this exists at the pinnacle of the world of boxing.
His name is Deontay Wilder
He is the current WBC heavyweight champion.
And the only man to draw against him, Tyson Luke Fury
This man also has a record of 28 fights, 27 wins, 19 KOs, 1 draw, and is undefeated.
It has been decided that a rematch between these two—the strongest in modern boxing, or perhaps even candidates for the greatest of all time—will take place on February 22, 2020, in Las Vegas, USA.
I would like to explore the appeal of this rematch of the century.
■The greatest punching power in history!!! Deontay Wilder

Known by the nickname "The Bronze Bomber," he is the boxer who became the first American heavyweight world champion in 7 years and 7 months since Shannon Briggs lost his title on June 2, 2007, and is a rising star in the American boxing world.
He has a very intimidating appearance, but he is a man who has known hardship; when he was 19, his girlfriend became pregnant, and because his daughter was born with a rare spinal condition, he gave up his dreams and enrolled in Shelton State Community College. However, as the family budget became tight, he dropped out of community college as well, working multiple jobs as a truck driver and at a restaurant to pay for his daughter's medical expenses and living costs. He is now a father of three children.
His name recognition in Japan is likely almost non-existent outside of boxing fans...
For those who know "Hajime no Ippo," I think you can imagine someone like Takamura.
After all, as mentioned above, this record is truly terrifying...
In baseball, it's like winning by mercy rule every game; in table tennis or volleyball, it's like not dropping a single set in any match. That's how incredible his record is.
41 KOs out of 42 wins is abnormal, and furthermore, the one opponent he didn't beat by KO (Bermane Stiverne) was soundly defeated by KO in their rematch.
In other words, he has knocked out everyone he has fought and beaten... Terrifying.
Wilder's fighting style is "wild" in its purest form. Of course, he has solid boxing fundamentals, all at the highest level, but when it comes to the actual fight, the moment to finish it, Wilder's movements (especially the way he throws his punches) are nothing but wild. That is likely his greatest strength.
And yet, he is not reckless,he also possesses a counter that strikes at the slightest opening.Including that, you could say he is a boxer who possesses everything—a wild instinct, if you will—to take down his opponent.
And speaking of another one of Wilder's charms, it's his flashy entrance costumes!
He looks like he just jumped out of the world of Mad Max. I can't help but think that if this world were the end of the century, Wilder would definitely be the conqueror of the apocalypse.

So cool...
However, there is one person, and only one, who fought to a draw with such a Wilder---
That man is the other protagonist,Tyson Fury.
■ The Angry Giant!!! Tyson Fury!!!

The man who drew with Wilder is Tyson Fury (from Manchester, England).
His greatest strength is his206cm height(Wilder is 201cm, but Fury feels bigger...) giant frame, and contrary to what one might expect, his genius boxing I.Q. and boxing technique are his weapons.
It is a rule in the boxing world that the bigger the body, the more power increases, but the slower the movement becomes. Especially in the heavyweight division, this is even more true.
Amidst that, Fury's strength lies in the fact that despite being a heavyweight, he moves as fast as a middleweight and displays great technique.
Of course, there have been fast-moving heavyweights before. Wilder, and Mike Tyson, were also fast (though Tyson is 178cm tall, so he might be an exception...). However, that is often limited to punches and attacking movements.
In that regard, Fury is incredibly fast and skilled at stepping and swaying with this giant body!!
Usually, someone this big should have sluggish movements, but Fury has none of that at all...
And another strength is his recovery power.
Actually, although they drew last time, Fury was knocked down twice. Moreover, the second knockdown was so shocking that everyone thought, 'It's over...' or rather, 'I-is he alive?'
However, just when I thought Fury had calmed down while looking up at the sky, he got up as if nothing had happened, and passed the referee's check with ease.

A knockdown in the 12th round where his eyes rolled back. Everyone thought it was over...

No way, was a count even necessary...?? But from here

he gets back up!!!
■ The fight is next week!!! Both have speed and showmanship. Is it power? Or technique?
In that drawn match, despite Fury being knocked down twice, it ended in a draw, and there are even voices saying that Fury had actually won.
In fact, when looking back at the match, it does seem like Fury won more rounds if you calculate it round by round. Fury is superior in technique.
However, in terms of one-punch knockout power, Wilder is many times superior. Also, the fact that he overwhelmed and won the rematch against the aforementioned boxer Stiverne is a reference point. Wilder can evolve for a rematch.
My prediction is... with some hope mixed in,a 4th-round KO win for Wilder! (lol)
The reason is, as expected, Wilder's power. Also, since he scored two knockdowns last time, he should still remember the timing... I predict that once the match starts and their bodies get moving, Wilder's punch will ignite while both Fury and Wilder are still fresh.
However, it's also possible that Fury will revive like a zombie from there and dominate until the final round... lol
Anyway, the term 'fight of the century' is often used in boxing, but I think this match is truly a mega-fight that happens once every few years!!! (I think a fight against the young British champion Anthony Joshua is waiting ahead, but that's for later...)
In Japan, it will be broadcast live on WOWOW from 0:00 on Sunday, February 23rd! If you are interested, please check it out!
By the way, I'm thinking of either going back to my parents' house to watch it on WOWOW, or going to watch it alone at a sports bar like this one: https://www.spocafe.jp/shop/11878. I'm looking forward to it.
The end
