Let's come back to play in the snow again next year.
Hello everyone.
I have been visiting my parents' home in Nagano since yesterday.
This is my first visit to my parents' home since last August.
This time, my 6-year-old son was so excited to play in the snow, so I was worried about whether there would still be any snow left at my parents' place.
However, because there was a heavy snowfall just a week ago, it was still there.
I'm so relieved.😌
However, since we arrived yesterday evening, we had to put off playing in the snow until today.
Today, the next day, my son couldn't contain his excitement and woke up at 6 a.m., full of energy!
He headed outside just after 8 a.m. and started playing in the snow right away.
Since my father had already made a snow mountain outside, we decided to build an igloo first.
With an iron shovel in hand, he dug into the snow mountain!
It's so hard...
Because it was snow that had fallen a few days ago, it was frozen solid and hard to dig through...
With my father's help, we managed to finish the igloo!
My son was excited to be inside an igloo for the first time.
Having finished building the igloo, which was our main goal, I felt a sense of relief.

After that, we used the snow piled up on a hill near the house to go sledding.
This was also my first time sledding with my son.
The two of us slid down the natural course together.
It didn't go very fast, but my son was very happy.

We played outside from morning until 2 PM, but since it started raining, we had to end our snow play☔️
My son still seemed like he wanted to play more, but we can't fight the weather.
And it looks like the forecast for tomorrow is rain as well.
Or rather, it sounds like it's going to be pouring.
Upon learning that it would keep raining, my son said this to me quietly.
I wonder if the igloo will melt away. That makes me feel kind of sad...
...
I know.
We have to go home tomorrow, but I wish we could have left with the memory of the fun snow play just as it was.
If the igloo has collapsed by tomorrow morning, I'll feel a bit sad too, son.
...
This winter will be over soon.
If only my parents' house were closer, we could come play in the snow more often.
Well, there's no point in wishing for what we don't have.
Let's just be glad we had fun playing today, my son.
Let's come back here to play in the snow again next year.
