[Publication Announcement] An independent social worker has published a "non-specialized book."

I, an independent social worker, have taken on the challenge of my first publication. That said, it is neither a specialized book nor anything of the sort, but a "just trace it" kind of laid-back book. Why on earth?

What is the reason an independent social worker took on the challenge of publishing?

Exploring the possibilities of social workers, hoping that social workers themselves are healthy, wishing for people's hearts to feel lighter, and thinking about increasing my own income for 23 years, I am freelance social worker (started in 2001) Akiko Yanagida.

Interested in independence, I am posting this for those who want to make choices they won't regret as a social worker.

Now then.

I have recently
published "A Book You Just Trace." through Bungeisha.
published.

The "certain challenge" I wrote about at the end of the article below was this publication.

Why did I end up publishing this book, you ask?

"Because I looked for a book like this, but it didn't exist."

That is why.

Let me explain a little more.

I wanted to be able to write beautiful characters, so I bought a so-called beautiful handwriting practice book and started working on it.

I realized after trying it that
tracing】 is surprisingly good for concentration.

While I'm tracing, I get serious and can't think about anything else.

I even forget about unpleasant things while I'm tracing.

I thought this was great, but

unfortunately, the beautiful handwriting practice books on the market have boring content.

Things like seasonal greetings, names of prefectures, or how to write a resume.

That kind of stuff.

If I'm going to do it anyway,
wouldn't it feel good to trace
some fun words!

...That's what I thought, and
I looked for a book like that, but

there wasn't one.

Well, actually, there are some.

Things that aim to make you feel positive by tracing them.

But,
they are

famous quotes, or
words from great people, so

they're a bit too heavy.

When I'm feeling down,
I can't trace such heavy phrases.

Plus, the books are quite large.

...This is a bit different from what I'm looking for

I thought.

What I want is...

- Words that are fun to trace,
- Not reverent famous quotes,
- Portable,
- Stylish enough to open in a cafe,
- Something that makes you feel lighter just by looking at it

...Such a tracing book.

It didn't exist anywhere.

None.

Nowhere at all.

In that case...

Yes,

If it doesn't exist, create it

...This is one of the things required of a social worker, isn't it?

So I thought, why don't I try making such a book?

And with that thought,

as an independent social worker, I can decide to do it without needing approval from a boss,

so I said, "Let's do it!"

and gave myself the green light

...that is the reason why I ended up creating this book.

That is the reason, but there is a little more I would like to talk about.

Those are the two points: ① My thoughts on "
If it doesn't exist, create it" and ② Can publishing this book be considered the work of a
social worker
?

I plan to post about ① tomorrow
and about ② the day after tomorrow

I will post it then.

I will never forget the night of January 19th of this year when I participated in a publication consultation session at Bungeisha.

At that time, the idea was still just a chaotic mess in my head,

so it feels very strange even now that it has taken shape like this in less than a year.

"A book just for tracing." (Written by Akiko Yanagida, Bungeisha, December 2024)
I would be very happy if you could pick up a copy.

Choosing the words
was a lot of fun♪
I also drew the illustrations
myself (*^^*) ↓Click here to purchase (available at various online shops)↓

You can also order it at physical bookstores nationwide!

That is all for today.

Have a wonderful day today as well!
