☂️I like rainy days

I have always liked being alone.
When I am in my room on a rainy day, I feel a bit disconnected from the world.
When I look outside on a drizzly day, the rain, like silk threads, covers the world. Everything is soaked, and it makes me feel somewhat melancholy.
On days like this, I want to drink whiskey.
When I look at the window on a day with steady rain, there is a curtain of raindrops on the glass. I can lose track of time just watching that ever-changing curtain. This is definitely whiskey time.
On stormy days, there is no need to look outside; it is whiskey time.

☂️The rhythm of rainy days

Pitter-patter, tap-tap, rat-a-tat. The rhythm of rain is fun.
Back when I lived in a row house, it had a corrugated metal roof, so the volume of the rain sound was incredible. When it rained hard, it was so loud that I couldn't hear people talking. At that point, it was no longer a rhythm. It felt like being forced to listen to a snare drum roll endlessly.
Can you imagine? The suspense of wondering when the big crash will come just keeps going; that is a bit exhausting.
And, corrugated metal (totan). What is totan? Totan. That word also has a fun ring to it.

☂️Rainy day shoe situation

I wrote before that I dislike the slimy feel of wooden duckboards. I also dislike the squishy feel of wet shoes. It is just too gross. It feels like sticking my feet into mekabu seaweed. Not that I have ever actually done that.
The other day, wanting to walk even on a rainy day, I went to buy rain boots.
My foot size is 25cm.
For some reason, women's shoes are only cute up to 24.5cm. Could they not have done something about that extra 0.5cm? Are they saying that people who wear 25cm don't deserve cute shoes?
I had no choice but to try on some 25cm rain boots that weren't even cute. They didn't fit.
Are they really 25cm? I didn't like them, but I tried to wear them anyway, and being rejected by them felt frustrating. It felt like being told "you didn't have to force yourself" after I had forced myself to eat something.
I had to give up on the rain boots with tears in my eyes.

☂️Tearful memories of a rainy day

Several years ago, my pet cat died of old age.
It was a cat I had picked up when it was just a tiny abandoned kitten.
I love cats, but I dislike having fur on my clothes. I have a free-spirited personality like a cat, and my sense of distance with the cat was subtle.
It would go to the beds of other family members, but it wouldn't come to mine. It only came when it wanted food.
However, as it got older and the time finally drew near, for some reason, it wouldn't leave my side. Perhaps it was because it couldn't see anymore.
And then, the moment finally came. It happened while I was at work. A phone call from my mother. But since it was a cat, I couldn't just leave. It was frustrating. I couldn't cry.
Even though it had been coming to me so much at the end, I wasn't there to see it off.
As soon as work ended, I rushed to my car.
It was raining outside.
There was a curtain of raindrops on the glass.
The sound of the rain seemed to drown everything out.
I cried my heart out.
I don't like crying in front of others.
I was grateful for the rain.

☂️My rain-bringing boss

She is a charming person who is always smiling and gets along well with everyone.
Her tight bun hairstyle is cute. Her skin is smooth and egg-like.
She is a bit hunched, but that just makes her seem softer.
She says what needs to be said directly, but it never sounds harsh.
And she listens to a lot of my worries and complaints.
I have met the best boss ever.
...If only she weren't a rain-bringer.
Usually, it rains only when we go out for business. It rains the moment I get out of the car. It rains the moment we leave a shop. It rains the moment we leave the office together after work.
It rains at the drop of a hat (totan).
I love this boss who never fails to live up to expectations.
