Since becoming a freelancer and remote worker, I have had more opportunities to do 'nomad work' at cafes and libraries.
While it is great to be able to work in different places to change my mood, there is a 'fatal weakness' that nomads simply cannot avoid.
That is the hell of only being able to use the 'single screen' of a laptop.
For me, having once worked as an engineer surrounded by 'three screens' at home to achieve maximum efficiency, switching between multiple pieces of software on a small, single laptop screen is nothing but stressful.

You might think, 'Why not just go to a shared office that has monitors provided?'
That is certainly the smartest option.
However, the number of seats with monitors is limited, and you have to win the 'battle' of going early every morning to secure a spot.
Moreover, it naturally costs money to use, and you cannot use them at free libraries.
'I guess I have no choice but to carry a mobile monitor myself...'
Although I made up my mind, my laptop is a beloved machine I customized with 32GB of RAM and an extended battery.
It already weighs 1.5kg, and just carrying it around is quite exhausting.
I absolutely did not want to add any more heavy luggage.

While typical tablets weigh 500-600g, this lightness of 260g is abnormal.
The reason is simple: it is 'battery-less'.
If your laptop has a Type-C port, video output and power supply are completed simultaneously with a single cable! There is no need to carry a heavy AC adapter.

The ultimate 'vertical monitor dedicated to generative AI' made with a 100-yen shop stand
By obtaining this super-lightweight monitor, my nomad environment has evolved dramatically. Here, I will introduce the ultimate life hack that I practice.
That is the way of using it: 'place the mobile monitor vertically and use it as a screen dedicated to generative AI (Gemini).'
