Instead of increasing your savings of money, increase your savings of trust
Since becoming independent, I have thought many times about what I should prioritize building up.
Is it sales, profit, or scale?
Visible numbers are easy to understand and can also be a source of comfort.
Of course, money is important.
I have a life to live and family responsibilities.
It won't last on platitudes alone.
Even so, there is something I have realized while continuing this for a long time.
Building up trust results in more stability than chasing money.
More often than not, the number of times people say, 'I can trust that person,' supports my future more than the balance in my bank account.
■ Money can decrease
No matter how hard you try, money can decrease.
Changes in the economy.
Industry trends.
Sudden troubles or unexpected expenses.
I have experienced many times that things do not go as planned.
Even during times when I thought things were going well, the numbers can drop a few months later.
The tide can change due to factors unrelated to your own ability.
Money is important, but it is not something you can completely control.
That is precisely why, if you rely only on money, your anxiety will never disappear.
■ But trust does not disappear easily
On the other hand, trust is a little different.
Trust does not increase dramatically, but it does not disappear suddenly either.
・Keeping promises
・Responding politely
・Explaining things sincerely
These accumulations do not immediately turn into sales.
However, they become more effective as time passes.
Trust is like an invisible bank account.
Small daily deposits are guaranteed to remain.
Once trust is built, it does not easily collapse unless something major happens.
■ Trust appears when you are in trouble
You feel the value of trust most when things are not going well.
When work decreases.
When you want a referral.
When an unexpected problem occurs.
At such times, people will say, 'That person will be fine' or 'Let's consult with them once.'
This is not a coincidence.
It is the moment when the accumulation of the past takes shape.
Trust is not noticeable when things are going smoothly.
However, it exerts its power most when you are facing headwinds.
In other words, trust is like an insurance policy.
■ Trust is not flashy
Trust does not become a number.
It does not appear in the number of SNS followers.
It does not increase all at once.
That is precisely why it tends to be underestimated.
Flashy achievements and large sales are easier to understand.
However, achievements are the result of trust, not the cause.
How carefully can you handle the parts that do not stand out?
That is where a person's true nature is revealed.
It is plain, but this is the most important thing for continuing for a long time.
■ Savings of trust start with 'small things'
Trust is not born from special actions.
Reply quickly.
Keep your time.
Be honest about what you cannot do.
Do not be vague.
Do not skip these basic things by making excuses like 'I am busy.'
Trust is not born from special talent, but from the continuation of an attitude.
Each one is small.
However, when accumulated, it becomes a big difference.
■ If you chase money too much, your trust will decrease
Prioritizing short-term profits makes your judgment prone to wavering.
Taking on work you wouldn't normally do.
Offering unreasonable prices.
Skipping explanations.
You might increase your money temporarily.
However, behind the scenes, your trust may be being eroded.
Because trust is invisible, it is difficult to notice when it is decreasing.
In the long run, decisions that erode trust are like borrowing against future sales.
■ In your 50s, the weight of trust changes
When you are young, you can compete with speed and momentum.
However, as you get older, that alone is no longer enough.
・How you have behaved until now
・What kind of promises you have kept
・What kind of attitude you have had toward your work
These become your evaluation as they are.
Trust is an asset that increases in value with age.
It is one of the few assets that allows you to have time on your side.
■ Trust is an allowance for your future self
Savings of trust are not something to be withdrawn right away.
They are like an allowance to be handed over to your future self.
Money is also necessary.
I do not deny that.
However, money is the result.
Trust is the cause.
If you continue to cultivate the cause, the results will follow.
Today, too, I will accumulate small amounts of trust.
It may be plain, but it might be the most reliable way to build assets.
