[Production Case Study] A "White Paper" that Conveys Expertise and Understanding of Challenges

This is the second installment in the "Yamada Slide Workshop" production case study series.

I will be posting one production case study per week starting from 6/17, so if you are interested, I would be happy if you could request my services via Lancers or CrowdWorks.

The second installment is a "[White Paper] designed for an organizational development consultant to convey expertise and an understanding of challenges."

White Paper: A document distributed by a company to summarize professional information or know-how useful for solving customer (especially corporate) challenges, intended to encourage consideration of their products.

*The posted material is a dummy document created independently with consideration for confidentiality. It is designed to show the flow of manuscript organization, structural design, and slide design, assuming a situation close to actual projects.

Background of the request, etc.

Assumed Client
Organizational development consultant (individual) with about 1 year of independence

Type of Material
White Paper

Target Audience
Executives and HR managers of venture and small-to-medium enterprises with 30 to 150 employees

Goal of the Material
To make them feel, "I can consult with this expert," and lead them to view the service introduction page or make an inquiry

Background/Challenges of the Request
・It is difficult to convey the value of consulting, which is an intangible service.
・It is often said that slides full of text are "vaguely impressive, but the key points are unclear."
・There was a need to organize professional content in a way that is easy for first-time readers to follow.

Points of Ingenuity in Production (Overall)
・Visualized the key points of each slide, organizing them into a flow of "grasp the main points first, then deepen understanding with the body text."
・Based on the characteristics of a white paper, kept company information minimal and adjusted the structure to convey an understanding of challenges and expertise.
・In line with the theme of organizational development, used a calm vermilion as the main color to emphasize reliability as an expert.

Structural design, design

Points of focus during production
・Using the keywords "information asymmetry" and "sharing context" as the core, we used diagrams to express the structure of "raising the perspective of the field to the same level as that of management."
・The second stage, "sharing information," has the nuance of "sharing language (like a slogan)." We added content to help the reader of the document feel that it is relevant to them by imagining a common situation where "there are numbers and slogans, but they alone do not move the field," and having them think, "This is about my company."

In actual production, we add content after consulting with the client (as adding content to documents that have already been approved internally can sometimes cause extra work for internal coordination).

About Requests

At Yamada Slide Workshop, with experience in creating over 2,000 diagrams and strong organizational skills, we provide a document creation service that consistently handles structure organization, content proposals, diagramming, and design adjustments to create documents that are easy for readers to understand.

  • The document has too much text and is difficult to read.

  • The flow of the document is difficult to understand.

  • The value and strengths of the service are not being conveyed well, and we cannot move to the next step.

  • We cannot immediately answer questions about "things not written in the document," leading to a loss of trust.

If you have such concerns, please feel free to contact us via Lancers or CrowdWorks.

In addition to creating entire documents, we can also consult on diagramming only parts of slides or text.

For those who want to "try it out on a small scale first," we have also published a package starting from 3 diagrams on Lancers, so if you are having trouble with your documents, please feel free to consult us.
