Is it filled with bean paste all the way to the tail?
To begin with, what do you think is the difference between a "purpose" and an "objective"?
To give you the conclusion first, I think these two have completely different scales and roles.😌
When you buy taiyaki, there aren't many people who buy it just to fill their stomachs, right? There must be an emotion beyond that, like, "Ah, I want to eat something sweet and feel relieved."
Purpose: To eat sweet taiyaki, relax, and soak in a happy mood.
This is the final goal. In other words, it's the root reason for "why are you doing that?"
And, to fulfill that "happy mood (purpose)," what specifically are you aiming for? This is the "objective."
Objective 1: Choose a shop where the bean paste is filled all the way to the tail.
Objective 2: Get the limited-time "chocolate custard flavor."
Objective 3: Eat it piping hot before the crispiness of the skin is lost.
These are all "concrete strategies" to achieve the purpose.
If you are too fixated on the "objective (the filling or how to eat it)" and it gets cold over time, the "eating happily (purpose)" will be ruined. Conversely, if you say you "want to be happy (purpose)" but choose the filling carelessly and end up with a flavor you don't like, that also takes you further away from your purpose.
Setting markers called "objectives" toward the goal called "purpose." This set is what's important.
[Bonus] Which part do you start eating from?
Lastly, I want to ask everyone something...
"Which part do you start eating taiyaki from?"
Actually, I think this is where your "objective" at that moment shows the most.
The Head-First Biter: The shortest-route type who says, "I just want to meet the bean paste as soon as possible!"
The Tail-First Cruncher: The process-oriented type who says, "I want to enjoy the fragrance of the skin first."
The Split-in-Half Type: The analytical type who says, "I want to check how much filling is inside."
No matter where you start eating from, as long as you achieve the purpose of "becoming happy," that is the correct answer!
By the way, my mom is the "freedom type" who says, "It's the same no matter where you eat it from!" while stealing a bite from the side.😂
Next time you eat taiyaki, please try to remember for a moment, "What are my purpose and objective right now?"
Well then, let's keep valuing our own "objectives" today and stay in a good mood!
