Banner Production | Christmas Illumination Event
I participated in a banner competition hosted by a web design school and created a banner to promote a fictional event. I will be documenting the production process.
Analysis of the Request

Christmas illumination event banner → I want people living in areas where they can actually go to see it (around the Kinki region) to know about it in particular → It might be effective to feature the place name "Namba" in a large font to grab attention
Target audience is mainly couples and families in their 20s and 30s → Among them, women seem more likely to plan a trip to an illumination event → Create a romantic atmosphere that women will find more exciting
X advertising banner → I want to use a beautiful, memorable photo of the illuminations to make people stop scrolling
Created Design

Design Highlights
I processed the existing fonts KazukiReiwa and Cedarville Cursive in Illustrator to capture the fun atmosphere of the event.

I layered a bokeh effect onto the illumination photo using Photoshop to make the glow feel more romantic.

I referred to the article below for how to create the bokeh effect. It was easier than I imagined, and I would like to use it for photos I take myself in the future.
Reflection
Since I tend to choose Gothic fonts when designing according to my own preferences, I tried using a Mincho font this time. The KazukiReiwa font I used has a wonderful retro feel and warmth, as if ink is pooling, and I would like to use it in other designs as well. I also learned photo processing techniques I didn't know before, so I want to apply them to future projects.
