Writing the synopsis for "BokuMega"!

Hello everyone. I'm Yayoi Yagami!
Today, I decided to solve a little problem I've been having.

I enthusiastically submitted my work to the highly acclaimed Creative Awards 2024, thinking, "Alright, I'm going to do it this year!" but when I checked the dashboard, I was floored.

The views for my main entry, "BokuMega," were

Lonely...

No, actually, it's quite lonely.
So, I asked a senior NOTER for advice on my problem!

They pointed out two issues.
・ You shouldn't write things like "*140,000 characters*" in the title!
・ Since it's a long-form story, you have to include a "synopsis"!

I see. That's true.
I included the character count in the title out of kindness, meaning "It's long, you know!", but honestly,

"Nobody's going to open that!"

is what it boils down to, right!
That's true. Even I probably wouldn't open it.
So, I fixed it! (The character count is the same, but) I removed the character count from the title! Even though I thought it might be a "violation of disclosure obligations," I did it for the sake of views!

And now, I'm going to write the synopsis!
As an excuse, I actually wanted to include a "synopsis" too.
But the application requirements are "between 20,000 and 140,000 characters"!

BokuMega actually has 170,000 characters.
I forced it down to 140,000 characters (139,870 characters).
(Don't tell me, "I don't care about that!")

To make the story consistent, I had to add a significant amount, so including that, I cut about 50,000 characters.

It was a blood-sweating task where I had my brain spinning at full capacity until it was on the verge of overheating, with smoke coming out of my head.

As a result, I ended up thinking, "I can't fit a synopsis in!!"
Because I felt that if I cut any more, it wouldn't be "BokuMega" anymore...

So, here is the "synopsis"!

"BokuMega ~Me and the Goddess's Interstellar War~" Synopsis

Konta Hori is 17 years old. This spring, he started dating Ichika Imai, who is famous as the most beautiful girl in school, and was blessed with friends like Shinichiro Morikawa and Yuna Naka. Just as his lackluster school life began to turn around, for some reason, he was transported to the cockpit of a combat weapon called "Kei" floating in space 200 years in the future. There, a coalition organization of humans and aliens called the "Ring Solar System Planetary Organization" was at war with an existence from another universe called "Kegare."

After obtaining fragmented information from a girl named Ena whom he met in the cockpit, Konta is told that he is an existence called a "Meter," Ena's partner, but Konta has no memory of that. However, realizing that the only way to return to his original world is to lead this war to an end, he throws himself into the battle against the Kegare alongside Ena and the crew of the "Deep Space Exploration Ship Akitsushima."

Akitsushima, having detected large-scale combat preparations by the Kegare near Jupiter, decided to carry out a solo forced reconnaissance mission by Kei, based on Ena's proposal.

After analyzing the various information brought back, they obtained enough evidence to infer that the Kegare had installed a large-scale portal for travel on Jupiter and were planning to nip the buds of the future in the past. Following Kunta's proposal, they decided to execute a bold operation to confirm the destination, identify where they emerged from, and launch an all-out attack on that location.

Meanwhile, three of Kunta's friends wake up in an unfamiliar world. It was a different dimension where Ena and Metre lived. After having the situation explained to them by Metre, the three of them begin training with combat weapons from Metre in order to save Kunta and Ena.

Around that time, Akitsushima, having safely passed through the Jupiter portal, arrived 200 years in the past—the timeline where Kunta originally came from—and entered into battle with the Kegare above Japan. Just as Akitsushima, disadvantaged in numbers, was being gradually cornered, Metre arrived with Shinichiro and the others to provide reinforcements, and they were able to win the battle. The group, reunited aboard the Akitsushima, proceeded to attack the Kegare's base and succeeded in destroying it with their ultimate weapon. Thus, Kunta and the other four were able to put an end to the war 200 years in the future, safely return to their original world, and regain their daily lives.

Afterword

Synopses are difficult, aren't they...
Should I include all the elements, or should I build up the excitement to 'make them want to read it' and end it there...

After worrying about it, it turned out like this.
I hope it catches the interest of many people.
