Yadorigi Bunko's New Release 'Nomasaru' Scheduled for July 2026 & Participation in Literature Flea Market Sapporo 11
At Yadorigiya, we publish Zines under the name 'Yadorigi Bunko'.
It has been over a year and a few months since we first published the tanka collection 'Light cast into a small spring drawn by snow melted in the palm of my hand' and the travel essay collection 'Going, Weaving Patterns' in December 2024. While I had been wanting to release the next Zine, I struggled to find the time, but I have finally been able to give shape to a project I have been nurturing.
This summer, Yadorigi Bunko will publish an omnibus about alcohol titled 'Nomasaru'. 'Nomasaru' is a dialect term used primarily in Hokkaido and the Tohoku region, describing a situation where one 'ends up drinking (because it is so delicious)' or 'cannot help but keep drinking regardless of one's own will'.
The Zine 'Nomasaru' will feature a wide range of writings that make you want to drink or get you tipsy, including short stories, tanka, essays, fictional izakaya menus, and introductions to books that make you feel intoxicated, written by Yadorigiya members and guest contributors.
We are currently working hard on production, and while the manuscripts are not all in yet, we are planning the first sale at 'Literature Flea Market Sapporo 11' to be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 (holiday).
