Ancient Creatures You Can See Right Before Your Eyes: 'MUSEUM ALIVE IMMERSIVE WITH DAVID ATTENBOROUGH' - XR Movie Guide #37

XR, and MR in particular, is said to be a great fit for art galleries and museums. Museums in Paris, France, such as the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, and the National Museum of Natural History, are already utilizing VR and MR for their exhibits, and I imagine that XR-based exhibitions will become the norm in Japan as well in the future.
The work I am introducing this time is by David Attenborough, who wrote the documentary film 'Earth' and has produced numerous films themed around the global environment. Recently, he has been actively producing works about living creatures and nature using cutting-edge technology such as VR and AR, and he has now announced a new work, 'MUSEUM ALIVE IMMERSIVE WITH DAVID ATTENBOROUGH,' which utilizes the Apple Vision Pro. You can encounter extinct ancient creatures through the Apple Vision Pro. The ancient creatures you can encounter this time are the following four types:
1. Opabinia, a mysterious fish-like creature with five eyes
2. Dimorphodon, a flying dinosaur
3. Smilodon, a master hunter
4. Archaeopteryx, said to be the oldest bird
The ancient creatures brought back to life from fossils using 3DCG are all realistic and look as if they are truly there. Since you can see this in your own room, the future of education will surely change. While this is a work I would of course like you to see on the Apple Vision Pro, it can also be viewed in AR using your smartphone.
I have covered David Attenborough's works in the VR Movie Guide in the past.

Highlight: Ancient creatures you can see right before your eyes
This work was not created simply through imagination; experts and curators at the Natural History Museum analyzed specimens and fossils of ancient creatures, connected small clues, and further utilized cutting-edge technology to recreate them. Through this, they have revealed the appearance of creatures never seen before. The moment a fossil appears before your eyes, flesh and skin are recreated on it, and the creature begins to move, it is truly realistic and surprising. The creatures that begin to move perform actions that reveal their characteristics, and the work is structured so that you can visually understand the ecology of these ancient creatures. Furthermore, in the diorama scenes, they not only accurately revive the fossils but also realistically express what the environment was like at that time. You can see the crystallization of the knowledge of researchers who have studied these subjects for many years right before your eyes.
