Why I Keep Going to Kosome Campground
This time, I would like to write about the reasons why I keep visiting Kosome Campground in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture—my favorite campground that I frequent often—while reposting some photos I have taken there.
I chose this topic because Tekka-san, whose camping articles I always look forward to, visited Kosome Campground and even used my favorite A6 site, which is why I decided on this content.
1. It's close
Even though this campground is in Matsumoto City, it is located deep in the mountains away from civilization, but I can get there in about an hour from my home.
For someone like me who doesn't want to spend a long time traveling to go camping, being "close" is quite important.
2. You can enjoy spectacular views
This is the biggest appeal of this campground. If the weather is good, you can see the vibrant Mount Norikura during the day, Mount Norikura dyed in the sunset in the evening, a starry sky at night, and the alpenglow on Mount Norikura in the morning.
I think anyone would be captivated by this scenery.

3. The staff are kind and polite
This is a very important point when choosing a campground.
If the staff are unpleasant, I think, "I'm never coming back," but the staff here are very kind and pleasant.
4. It's cheap
This is an important point for visiting many times.
I believe that if I go alone and buy firewood, I still get change back from 3,000 yen.
With this, I can also dispose of my trash before leaving.
The cost-performance for the level of satisfaction here is so good that I have no desire to go anywhere else.
5. You can spend time quietly
This campground is located deep in the mountains, far from Matsumoto city center, and perhaps because it takes a long time to get here from the Tokyo metropolitan area, I get the impression that only dedicated campers come here.
After all, it is in an area that is generally referred to as a "marginal village."
Also, the fact that they use their own reservation site rather than a major camping reservation site might have an impact.
The clientele consists mostly of solo campers or couples relaxing, so it is quite quiet at night.
This is especially true for the site with the good view that I use, as it is a popular spot.

6. The facilities are well-equipped and maintained
The facilities are not brand new, but they have a certain charm, and there are washlet toilets and showers available.
In fact, there is even a microwave and a refrigerator you can use for 100 yen, so you won't feel inconvenienced.
You can even buy ice cream at the shop, put it in the fridge, and eat it while sitting by a campfire at night.

The water areas are always kept clean, so you never have to feel uncomfortable.
I believe this is thanks to the staff and the local people who come to help out.
7. There is a resident cat
This is a big plus for a cat lover like me.

This campground has a resident cat named Tsukune-kun.
If I recall correctly, when I asked last year, they said he was about 6 years old. He is a fluffy, cute cat, though he does hiss at me.
He is often not in his bed during the day, but after visiting many times, I have learned where he usually hangs out.
Even if he is wary when I approach.
That concludes the reasons why I keep going to Kosome Campground.
I have a plan to visit this campground every month this year, and there are only three visits left.
I wonder if I can achieve it.

The end.
