[Self-Introduction] Aiming to be an Administrative Scrivener who supports the 'future' of freelancers

Nice to meet you, I am Eri Obana.

Until now, I have worked as a freelance writer specializing in the real estate genre, handling writing, editing, and supervision primarily for web media.

I passed the Administrative Scrivener examination in November 2025.
Currently, in addition to my writing work, I am preparing to open my own administrative scrivener office.

Born in Gunma Prefecture, currently living in Toyama Prefecture.
I live with my husband, who is a company employee, and our 5-year-old and 2-year-old children.
My second son has a congenital heart disease (Double Outlet Right Ventricle) and we have experienced surgeries and hospital stays together.

I am taking a new step forward by combining the 'ability to communicate' I cultivated as a writer with the professional knowledge I have acquired so far.

In this note, I am realistically recording my preparations for opening an administrative scrivener office, the life of a freelancer raising children while living in a regional area, and my daily life with a child who has a congenital heart disease.

My background so far

Born in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. I grew up as the eldest of five siblings.

I went to a national university on a scholarship and majored in modern Japanese literature.
I obtained a teaching license for Japanese, but after my student teaching, I realized it wasn't for me and gave up on the path of becoming a teacher.

After graduation, I joined a real estate company.
I gained experience in tasks such as rental brokerage, corporate housing agency, and tenant contracting.

After living in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, and Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, I moved to Toyama Prefecture, where I currently reside.
I changed jobs to a community-based housing manufacturer and was in charge of land procurement for ready-built houses and similar projects.

I started working as a writer as a side job in 2017 and turned freelance in 2019.
Leveraging my practical experience and qualifications in the real estate industry, I have been active as a writer specializing in the real estate genre.

Until a few years ago, I never imagined that I would aim to become a licensed professional.

My achievements so far

1. Writing, Editing, and Supervision

As a writer specializing in the real estate genre, I have been writing, editing, and supervising primarily for major web media.
I am involved from the planning and composition stage, creating articles that are easy to understand even for those without prior knowledge.

2. Blog Awards

I started blogging on Hatena Blog in 2019 and later migrated to WordPress.
These are the achievements from 'The Path of a Real Estate x Writer,' which I used to operate.

3. note contest award history

Out of 30,348 total entries, only 6 works were selected.
When I found out the results, I honestly couldn't believe it at first.
I was so happy!

I'm planning to apply for the Creative Awards this year too!

4. Interview and media coverage achievements

Through my posts on note and X (formerly Twitter), I have had the experience of being interviewed as a parent raising a child with congenital heart disease.

5. Seminar speaking

Thanks to my writing achievements and social media presence, I have also started receiving requests to be a seminar lecturer.

What I write about in this note

I write about four main themes on this note.

1. Record of preparations until opening an Administrative Scrivener office

I am currently preparing to open an Administrative Scrivener office.
Registration procedures, considering business content, setting up the office... there is a mountain of things to do, but I plan to record them one by one.

I hope to connect loosely with others who are aiming to open their own offices as well.

2. Study record until passing the Administrative Scrivener examination

This is a record of my self-study journey for the Administrative Scrivener exam while raising two children.
I write realistically about my study methods, the textbooks I used, and the process of trial and error.

I hope this will be of some help to those who are about to take on the Administrative Scrivener exam.

3. Parenting record of a freelancer who moved to a rural area

I moved to Toyama and am raising my 5-year-old and 2-year-old children while working as a freelancer.
I write about what I feel in a life different from the Kanto region, and about balancing work with child-rearing.

I hope this reaches those who are exploring ways of working and living in rural areas.

4. My child has heart disease.

My second son has a congenital heart disease called Double Outlet Right Ventricle, which is designated as a nationally specified intractable disease.
We have experienced three surgeries and hospital stays where I had to accompany him.

If I can make parents in the same situation feel that they are 'not alone,' then that alone makes it worth writing.

5. Stories about my husband who does rental property sales and is a landlord in a rural area

I have compiled a record of my husband, who works in rental property sales in the Hokuriku region while also engaging in real estate investment.

As a writer specializing in the real estate genre, I write about his actual investment experiences and daily realities on behalf of my busy husband.

What I am aiming for in the future

As an administrative scrivener, what I want to aim for is supporting the creation of an environment where freelancers can work more freely and with greater peace of mind.

From my experience working as a freelancer, there were many times when I thought, 'I lost out because I didn't know,' or 'I wish I had known sooner.'

Matters regarding contracts, rights, and systems.
Even when trying to research them, aren't there people who end up moving forward without really understanding them because they are filled with difficult terminology?

I want to be an administrative scrivener who can stand by such people.
For example, I plan to support procedures related to the 'future' of freelancers, such as company incorporation.

I believe the 'ability to explain difficult things in an easy-to-understand way' that I cultivated as a writer will be directly applicable to the work of an administrative scrivener.
I want to be an administrative scrivener who can provide explanations that allow clients to move forward with conviction, rather than just listing technical terms.

I will make use of all my experience to date and take a new step forward as an administrative scrivener.
