My Rules for Writing note with AI: Use It for Brainstorming and Editing, but Draw Your Own Conclusions

I use AI when writing note.
That said, I don't have it write the text for me as is.

I use it to brainstorm ideas or to polish the text I've written.
AI is strictly an assistant; I decide the themes and conclusions myself.

While using AI in this way, I realized there were things I should avoid doing.

In this article, I would like to summarize how I currently use AI and the points of caution I realized through actual experience.

AI is for brainstorming and editing. I do the final polish myself.

I mainly use AI for two things: brainstorming and editing.
I have decided that I will do the final polish myself.

I work with AI on everything from generating themes to titles, headings, and adjusting the text.
However, I am the one who actually writes the text.

The idea is not to ask the AI to 'write this for me,' but to use it to make what I have written better.

The reason I do this is simple: text written by AI lacks my own personal experience.

Even if the information is correct, it doesn't feel like my own words.
Because it's hard to visualize concretely, it's difficult for readers to remember.

I didn't like that, so I decided from the beginning to 'use AI as an assistant.'

note x AI: My personal way of using it

I will introduce the actual flow of how I use AI when writing note.

1. Deciding the article theme with ChatGPT

First, I roughly decide 'what kind of article it will be.'
I imagine it as listing what I want to write in bullet points and organizing the direction with ChatGPT.

For example, it looks like this.

This is an article to be included in the note magazine 'Study Record for Passing the Administrative Scrivener Exam'.
I want to write about the ingenuity I used to secure study time while raising a child.
(Below, write what you want to write in bullet points)

Please create an article structure while selecting and discarding information.
If there is any missing information, please let me know.

I create a rough flow of the article to get it into a state where I can visualize the 'article framework (draft).'

2. Deciding the title with ChatGPT/Claude

Once the article framework is done, the next step is to decide on the title.

Unless you already have a fan base, people won't read your note if they can't imagine the content from the title.
That's why I am very conscious about how I think up my titles.

I make requests to ChatGPT and Claude in this way.

Please think of a title.
Make sure the content is clearly understood from the title.
Place the important keywords "--" and "--" toward the left.

I place important keywords on the left so that even if the title is cut off due to character limits, the essential part is still conveyed.

Regarding titles, neither ChatGPT nor Claude is definitive.
I have both of them generate a few options, and in the end, I make adjustments myself.

By the way, the note editorial department has written an article on how to create titles.

I also refer to the official note "note Utilization Guide".
As with any social media platform, if you want to grow your account, I believe you should first read the information published by the official source.

3. Creating headings with ChatGPT

Once the flow of the article becomes clear, I create headings.
I aim for no more than five main headings (H2).

What I am conscious of with headings is that the flow of the article should be understandable just by reading them.
I also make sure they are not too long and are concisely summarized.

I have the impression that ChatGPT is easier to use than Claude for creating headings.
However, they are rarely usable as-is.

I have them provide a draft, and in the end, I make adjustments myself.

4. Drafting by heading -> Editing with Claude

Once the headings are decided, I summarize the content I want to write for each heading in a draft or bullet points and input it into Claude.
I think of it as having the text polished.

I paste the polished text into note and then add my own touches.

5. Getting improvement points from ChatGPT and revising

Once it is polished to a certain extent, I put the text written in note directly into ChatGPT and have it provide specific points for improvement.

Based on that feedback, I continue to make revisions myself, keeping readability and clarity in mind.

Created by Gemini. Use AI as an assistant.

If you leave it entirely to AI, the content will become thin.

AI is good at polishing text, but it doesn't have my own experiences or thoughts. If you leave everything to it, the writing tends to be correct but bland.

When I actually read such pieces, I sometimes feel that while they sound plausible, they leave no lasting impression.

That is why I make a conscious effort to include my own thoughts and real-life experiences. My goal is to finish with an article that AI cannot write—one that only I can write.

Even if information is accurate, writing that lacks specific details is hard to remember after reading.

I believe this is true whether it is written by AI or by myself.

How to avoid losing your individuality when using AI

Using AI certainly makes writing more polished. However, overly polished text can sometimes give the impression that 'anyone could have written this.'

What I value is deciding the theme and the conclusion myself. I maintain the stance that
AI is merely an assistant, and I am the protagonist of my writing.

Tools should be used for convenience. But I intend to keep thinking for myself about 'what to convey.'

Thank you very much for reading until the end.

I will continue to record changes in follower counts and views, things I am testing, and how I use AI in my note magazine 'Record of note and SNS Operations'.

I would be happy if you could 'like' and follow me!
