【 What We Can Do for the Future 】

Can you hear it?
The screams of the creatures living on Earth.
Can you see it?
The wounded figure of Mother Earth.


This Earth does not belong to humanity alone.
The Earth has provided a place to live for all living things.
The Earth hoped that humans and animals could coexist.


What we can do for the future.
No, what we must do for the future.
Isn't it to protect our irreplaceable Earth?


Due to human activities,
many wild species have been driven to extinction or the brink of it.
We have also had a massive negative impact on ecosystems and biodiversity.
The waste of fossil fuels has generated large amounts of carbon dioxide, which, along with methane and chlorofluorocarbons,
has accelerated climate change, such as global warming, as greenhouse gases.
Unplanned overfishing and overdevelopment have caused vast areas of forest to disappear.
Marine pollution from microplastic waste and other sources has also become serious.
The reality is that many parts of the natural world are being polluted on a large scale.


However, the greatest factor in environmental destruction is war.
In every era, humanity has repeated the folly of war.
War turns places all over the Earth into scorched fields.
How shameful, how irresponsible an act is this?
Humanity cannot face the other creatures.


We must take the unprecedented, global-scale environmental destruction
seriously.
As citizens of the Earth, please do not hurt the Earth any further.
As citizens of the Earth, let us stop the acts that make the Earth sad.


No matter how much we lament, we cannot bring back lost lives.
When we think of the Earth as a single living organism, the answer that comes back is the same.
This is because there are limits to the Earth's health and lifespan.
If we humans are taking the lead in actions that shorten the Earth's lifespan,
then that is a grave sin.


Do you know how many miracles have piled up
to make our Earth what it is?
Now, each and every one of us must realize the "gratitude" for the Earth's existence.
Countless "works of God" that far transcend the providence of the great universe...
We are constantly receiving those vast blessings that cannot be explained by the word coincidence.

*If the solar system, which exists on the outer edge of the Milky Way galaxy (27,000 light-years from the center),
had been near the center of the galaxy where stars are densely packed...
*If the Sun, which is a normal-sized star in the galaxy,
had been larger and hotter than it is now...
*If the outer planets, which use their massive gravity to attract and eliminate small celestial bodies that risk colliding with Earth,
had not existed in the solar system...


*If the Moon, which can determine Earth's axis and stabilize its rotation, had stopped being a satellite
and had moved away from Earth...
*If the Earth had not possessed
a suitable volume (size) and mass (weight)...
*If the Earth had not been located
in the habitable zone, the region within the solar system where life can exist...


*If the Earth's rotation period and orbital period, which are considered optimal,
had gone wrong...
*If the dinosaurs, which reigned on Earth for hundreds of millions of years,
had not gone extinct...
*If the average distance from the Earth to the Sun
had fluctuated by even 10%...


*If the water and atmosphere, which are essential for the birth of life and the maintenance of life activities,
had not existed on Earth...
*If the relative relationship between the freezing point and density of water, which prevents the seabed from freezing indefinitely,
had been the same condition value...
*If the entire Earth had not been covered by the Van Allen belt and the Earth's magnetic field, which block cosmic radiation harmful to living organisms...

*If the ozone layer in the stratosphere, which absorbs harmful ultraviolet rays and protects terrestrial ecosystems,

had disappeared...
*If the 23.4-degree tilt of the Earth's axis, called the axial tilt, which determines the Earth's climate,
had shifted even slightly...

...Just imagining these 'what ifs' makes me tremble

with horrific fear.
As mentioned above, our Earth is built on an exquisite balance.
If even one thing were missing, it would be impossible to maintain this miraculous natural environment.

That is why, with gratitude for the miracle planet Earth,

and also for the sake of our children's future,
we must cross the walls of borders, overcome racial divides, and transcend differences in ideology and belief,
so that all of humanity can become one and protect this Earth.
Of course, anachronistic war is out of the question. Let's stop it at all costs.

Even if it's just a small step, let's find ways to be kind to the Earth...

1. Do not pollute the Earth (reduce waste).
2. Cherish things (do not waste the Earth's limited resources).
3. Do not participate in environmental destruction (do not go along with overfishing or overdevelopment).
4. Do not tolerate environmental destruction (oppose any use of weapons or war).
5. Protect the creatures around you (do not abuse living things).

1. Use public transportation instead of a private car.
2. Bring your own bag when shopping.
3. Sort trash properly -> reuse through recycling.
4. Try to save water.
5. Review how you use electricity and reduce waste.


--Taking it even further...
*Participate in volunteer activities such as cleaning.
*Try to practice ethical consumption.
*Purchase fair trade products.
*Promote local production for local consumption.
*Use renewable energy.
*Use energy-saving appliances.
*Reduce food loss.


Please, even if it is just a really small step, that is fine.
Please be an "Earth-friendly" person.
